Forums - Gaming Discussion - Red Dead Redemption 2 delayed until Spring 2018, new screenshots

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now set to launch Spring 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.

We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer. In the meantime, please enjoy this selection of new screenshots from the world of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Now, this will fuel the Switch port rumours, won't it? It seems that Switch/NX rumours will trully last forever.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Come join The 2018 Obscure Game Monthly Review Thread.

What the hell...these graphics are near photo real! That's amazing!!! Take all the time you need you talented fuckers.

I hadn't even considered that this game would be delayed. I guess it makes it that much easier for BotW to win GOTY!

Disappointing, but not surprising. I bet it's going to be damn good and well worth the wait.

Was there any setting quite like the American West? I think similar environments, limited governance and culture/tech clashes existed throughout the Americas, but I can't think of much that would compare in the "Old World".

Maybe Russia's frontier settlements in Siberia? Seems like that would have been far too sparsely populated, though.

It's easy to see why that region and era are still subject to movies and games, it's just so "man against world"y lol, almost seems like a social experiment into near-apocalyptic living.

I was going to post it right now, lol, Ubisfot just dodged a massive bullet is the Far Cry 5 theme rumor is right.

Didn't they say that screenshot was from a different Steam game?

Hadn't thought of that, Zelda and Horizon just lost a major competitor for GotY. Still a couple more to wait and see, though.

Ikr, lol. Although congrats to this game too I guess since it will mostly likely now have Game of the Year 2018 in the bag.

Didn't they already release a trailer? They're setting it in Montana.
