Forums - Nintendo Discussion - NBA Playgrounds Selling Well On Switch?

how is NBA playgrounds? Saw some reviews that it isn't that great like the scoreboard is just at the center. But I wanted to know user experiences on the game itself. Is there a demo?

There's a good game there but the AI is really cheap, lol. But it does make the game way more challenging and more rewarding to win. I think they will patch the game's AI at some point.

Having the retro players in the game is really cool.

No live data charts or any sort of numbers yet, though I suspect that's a planned expansion as time goes on.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Yet people still surprised of how good casual/light games are selling well on switch.

It may have many games, but besides Mario kart 8 (a remaster), Zelda and Disgaea 5 I can't remember any other big game.

NBA Playgrounds is a sports game that usually wouldn't do well, at least on the Wii U or Wii it probably wouldn't IMO. It's more arcadey sure though.

Snipper Clips and the Neo Geo games are doing well on Switch too. Fast RMX seems to have done well too. I think Ultra Street Fighter 2 will do well too.

The only solid numbers i have heard are 80k for Blaster master, 300k plus for snipper clips and the Neo Geo games have sold over 200k combined.

Does the Switch eShop have lifetime charts?

I haven't come across that mate, I'm sure its just recent chart positions. I hope that's a feature that Nintendo add later though, would be very interesting to see.

It's got some flaws (rumble makes joycons sound like a jet engine, unfair AI on harder difficulty). Also, still awaiting online mode on Switch which kinda sucks, and I've already finished the tournament mode. At the end of the day though, it's a lot of fun, especially the multi. Reminiscent of NBA Street which I loved on the Cube.

Because Switch in same time is handheld also and offers full handheld play (that wasn't case with competition), I think that 3rd party games easily could be more popular than they were on past Nintendo consoles. Definitely for some people opportunity for playing full Fifa, NBA, Skyrim...in full handheld or tablettop mode is game changer.

thanks.  hopefully the devs would release a patch on the flaws I've read.  considering this game this year.

There really aren't that many games out on Switch right now. So not surprising.

Could be wrong but I think there's easily more than 25 games now including two huge Nintendo releases. It's past the "launch phase".

I'm actually getting none of the "there's nothing to play" feel from it, there's new games added to its eShop every few days now it feels like.

over 40 games on Switch
