Original Dragon Ball series its not about power level most of it its about technical and tactic, at first its all about Goku wondering and "looking" for a powerfull enemy and an adventures, it so exciting to read this manga when i was around 7 years old. Until Picollo saga its more action and it do really hooked me up.
Dragon Ball Z series... it does not even make me had a nostalgic feeling, because i still read it prety often. At first we had saiyan saga, from here Akira Toriyama let us know about the power level, how Goku and Picollo beat Raditz its make all of us shock. But we have dragon ball so no worries here. Continued to Vegeta vs Goku, it was so epic. We can still see about technical and tactic when Goku risked everything while using kaio ken 4x times and genki dama.
And we got Namec Saga, and in my opinion this is the best chapter of manga in my opinion even until now. Everything just amazing from start until Goku beat Freeza. In the begining we learned about Picollo ship, so we can travel from earth to namec.. and find Dragon Ball Namec to revive Picollo, Tien,Yamcha, Chaoz. It looks promising and simple at first. And we know what happened next. First group Gohan, Klilin, and Bulma faced a lot of powerfull enemy even Vegeta almost look like a toy. Dodoria, Zarbon, Ginyu Force, and 4 Freeza transformation. And how amazing feeling how Vegeta team up with Gohan and Klilin knowing Ginyu Force just come to Namec. And finally Goku arrived in Namec using his first ship when he came to earth. And yeah most of it is all about power level and more action, but with a balanced proportion with the story and dragon ball logic.. lol.
After that it continued to Android and Cell saga, this chapter is an amazing to.. how Akira Toriyama twisted around from the Android to transformable future horrible enemy it happened because future Bulma create a time machine to warned Goku cs. The one thing how this chapter is really cool is... it still have a connection with the original Dragon Ball series! This chain of dragon ball logic is really amazed me. But yeah... most of it is still about Power Level!
Boo Saga.. this chapter is really pushed Akira Toriyama in terms of creativity, in his interview he doesnt even know how to beat Boo XD. Until one of his bestfriend told him about fusion ideas. So we know Gotenks using a special technique to fuse or the legendary Vegeto using a potara ring. Yeah! I know! Most of it is about powering up.
Zuper... yeah in Beerus arc and Golden Freeza arc still about powering up.. how Goku breaking his limit and we got recolor Goku and recolor SSJ form. But i do really hooked up in anime version when Goku using kaioken mix with SSJ Blue.
But it is what it is, as a big fans i just really thankfully for such a cool sequel from a legendary series.
