Celtics edge out the Wizards to win the series 4-3. Stand out performance was Kelly Olynyk with 26 points off the bench. Olynyk is a cult hero in Boston but is unfairly hated by opposition fans. However the Celtics are so going to get steam rolled in the ECF by the Cavs in a clean sweep.

Spurs back up narrow loss with a 36 point insispid loss against the Warriors in Game 2. Warriors now lead the series 2-0 and are on track to another clean sweep. Warriors and Cavs have a good chance of both heading into the NBA Finals undefeated. A lack of competition in the NBA enables the Warriors and Cavs to dominate the league and make 3 consecutive NBA Finals.

lol, turned on the Cavs game for 2 minutes before flipping back to the Penguins-Senators hockey game. Not even worth watching for more than 2 minutes.

This year's playoffs were garbage. It seems like every year it has gotten worse!

If you're gonna let players huddle together and form their own mini all-stars team, just skip the 82 games and playoffs. Absolutely disgusting.

What I find irritating however is the Chris Paul veto. I'll never understsnd why Paul couldn't team up with Kobe, and yet everyone was fine with Kyrie/Love/Lebron and Durant/Thompson/Green/curry.

Edit: DNP rests and superteams need to be addressed by Silver. These two issues have taken out the excitement of the NBA. Everyone is getting ridiculous contracts and it's obvious who will reach the finals.

First off, the Cavaliers are nothing unusual in terms of star power.  Many, many teams have been lead by two or three stars.  The Bulls, multiple Laker teams, multiple Boston teams.  The only anomolous one is the Warriors, which is more an series of unusual circumstances and Kenin Durant being willing to sacrifice his dignity to straight upr ride their coattails.  But they're the first team to pull off this kind of stacking since...shoot, the 1960s Boston Celtics?

NBA kinda sucks these days outside of the Finals. No point in watching. This is probably the fewest NBA games I've watched since I started watching the league. I'm watching more of the hockey playoffs.

The Cavs have a loaded team. There's a difference between them and, say, the 2014 Spurs.

As of now, regardless of who did what and when in the past, the NBA simply doesn't seem exciting.

I started watching hockey. Is this year just good in particular or what? Every game is exciting to me

No, the Cavs are not.  96, 97, and 98 Bulls had three hall of fame players leading.  Bill Walton and Kevin McHale backed up Larry Bird. The Lakers with Kobe had multiple seasons with teams that had that 2 or 3 future-hall-of-famer lead. That's actually the standard NBA dynasty formula, has been since the early 60s.

The Warriors are anomolous, not the Cavs.

As for what's wrong with the league, it's a combination of a lot of things.  A couple of would-be-contenders didn't pan out, like the Indiana Pacers.  Some contender teams broke appart for no good reason like the Thunder.  The Lakers are in a rebuilding period.  But it's also just the fact that the Cavs and Warriors are exceptional.  I mean, regular season back in Jordan's days everyone knew who would win the East, it was never even a question.  And the Lakers-Celtics rivalries of the 60s and 80s were similar, with two teams almost always destined to meet in the finals.  Periods like this just happen. Plus the playoffs have been less exciting in the east because let's face it, the Celtics might be number 1 but everyone knew that the playoff Cavs ain't the regular season Cavs.
