I've been thinking that more and more often recently, mainly thanks to social media and politics. Can't really escape from it unless I stop using social media (including forums) and following news. Not that I want to though, because I like to stay informed. I'd do something about the situation, but it's not like there's much I can do about it. I lack what it takes to rise to a position that's influential enough and I'm not interested in getting what I lack since the situation in my country is tolerable, which means any effect I could have would be relatively small anyway.  In short, it's too much effort for too little gain.

Its collateral damage. The problem is that terrorists hide among and use civilians as shields. If we had boots on the ground people would be complaining of troops our dying! You just can't win in this scenario. What we should just do is defund the military and just let these people kill themselves right? Let the powers that be gas little babies right?
War is dirty and people die, that how it works. Life isn't like CoD.

Maybe we should just get out of the Middle East. What good are we doing there? It's 2017 ... and the Taliban and Al Qaeda are still around after 16 years from 9/11 and we bombed Afghanistan and Iraq into rubble three times over killing tens of thousands of people who had nothing to do with 9/11 in the process. 

Almost certainly we created more terrorists in the process of that. 

And US allies like Saudi Arabia are using phosphorous gas in Yemen ... zero outrage about that. 

There are terrible things happening in Africa and Asia and other places too, we don't go everywhere, this isn't a moral issue, we're in the Middle East because they have oil and gas. If they didn't, no one would give two shits. 

That's actually a great idea! The American military has caused much more dispair than repair!

Nope we cant just leave the Middle East and have Isreal go at it alone. They are surrounded by Muslims that would invade every single day. I stopped caring after the word "oil" here we go again...........

Well of course we can't leave, because of greed. That's the main issue. There's nothing about morality. 

Our own allies are the ones funding ISIS for example, we turn a blind eye to it for "strategic" reasons, or even probably encourage it. 

Right. And there absolutely won't be consequences. Because China and Russia will just do the same, is that correct?

Yes, because the logic should be "they're killing people, so why can't we?".

Sometimes it makes you wonder who the good guys are and who's the villain.
