Forums - PC Discussion - NVIDIA announces the GeForce TITAN Xp GPU; the new extreme and most powerful graphics card

Thanks Nvidia.

With Scorpio looking pretty decent, my GPU upgrade will be postponed awaiting the GTX 1180, which will be faster than all these without the dik measuring tax.

Will wait until a GPU is actually twice as fast as what i got arrives.

So, is this - for real this time - expected PS5's GPU ?
Im serious.

Sony and MS probably won't go with Nvidia so no...

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Titan Xp- really? What's next, Titan 7?

So uhh.. GTX 1060 Ti anyone?

$500 more for a tiny improvement that will be trumped by next years $700 card...

Now im real keen to see where Vega stands.

Nah, up next is Titan Vista, which will probably get its ass handed to it by AMD.  :)

No.  You'll want to look at the Vega 10.  That's what is most likely going to be in the PS5.  It's a ~12.5 Tflops GPU.  Of course, Sony will most likely downclock it or use fewer cores, so expect 11-12 Tflops.  2019 can't come soon enough.

You can't play bragging rights.  And if they spent hundreds just to brag, they can spend more to brag again.

Sure you can't but PCMR subreddit can. And well... It is $700 vs $1200 so... It is a big difference if they want to upgrade cause they just bought a new GPU for $700 and now they probably can't return it and it's just a big hassle.

Because the norm has always been Titan would give you the inital but expensive bragging rights and then if you waited for the xx80Ti, you would get bragging rights for half the price of the Titan but later. Now neither the original Titan owners or the 1080Ti owners gets bragging rights unless they buy the TitanXp.

I really feel with people who care so much about bragging rights and who lost them (not really). If it's about PCs, watches or whatever. If you need that bragging right so much  and don't only buy it because you like it without thinking about other people, you have other problems as only that you have no bragging right anymore^^
