Forums - Gaming Discussion - I am going to buy the MGS4 PS3 bundle and have a question about the PSN

Can you purchase point cards from stores like you can with the Wii?

I just checked all the games that they have to download and the only one I want is Castlevania:SOTN. How much does that game cost? If I use my credit card on it can I just buy that game and not have any extra points or whatever left over? I know on the Wii you have to buy points in sets of 1000 or buy a Wii Points Card with 2000 points on it.

Is this how the PSN store stuff works as well? Or can I just outright buy a game without having to do the point based system?

Do trailers, demos, wallpaper, etc cost money as well?

Demoes, Wallpapers, Songs, Themes, etc are all free as of now.

There is no point system for PSN, and PSN cards are on their but not out yet. However. By the time MGS comes out, the cards should be.

And there are many more great PSN to get with SotN.

Those in bold are free. As for the PSN cards, they have been announced, but no release date has been given, yet.

To add. You can sync up a credit/debit to your account. You extract money to your virtual wallet (a credit charge) to purchase things as well. This is the easiest way.

Oh yeah, trailers are free.

(unlike 360 and Wii.) the lowest dollar amount you can add to your wallet is 5 dollars.  There is tax in some areas (if not all) and I think you might be able to pay exact amount...

Do trailers, demos, wallpaper, etc cost money as well? Themes, Trailers, Demos, Wallpapers, FREE!

Has anybody actually seen one of these PSN cards yet? I really want a couple.

That game is $9.99 I believe.

IMO It is definitely a good decision to get the MGS bundle if you don't already have a PS3. It looks so cool.
Good luck getting one. I am thinking those bundles might be hard to come by if you are not ready to go when they are released.

̶3̶R̶D̶   2ND! Place has never been so sweet.

If the cost is above a certain amount (5$ I think) and you use your credit card, it will only add the amount of money you need. Therefore you do not have to keep a balance. in the US, Castlevania is 9.99$. Easiest way to make sure you don't carry over a balance is by going purchase item when your wallet is empty and you'll be brought to an area where you can add the exact required amount.

The cards aren't out yet but they should be here soon. (America + Europe), they are available in Japan.

You can check how much any games cost here: http://store.playstation.com/store/index.vm

And good choice on the bundle, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the same one.
