“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Money.

I'll settle for a big tray of Tiramisu. Probably won't survive the journey though.

I could cook it for them when I'm there, no need to bring it with me (plus it weights A LOT )

damn it someone already said sausage...

Kidding aside. I think it would be cool if you brought them some clothes or something. Aren't Italians supposed to be fashionable? Also, you could give them a Mario gift.

They are, but those fashion brands are quite expensive. A mere shirt can cost you $800.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

To be honest and totally boring, a nice bunch of flowers for the lady of the house would go down well, or a house plant. Also a like Italian good luck charm would be pretty cool. In england we have lucky horse shoes. Yeah don't ask.

If not food perhaps one of those hand blow glass made items (not sure how expensive they are to locals). Just seen them do it on a travel show when they were in Italy. Some looked pretty cool.
