Forums - Gaming Discussion - So Sony games always seem to be the most reviewed games

Uncharted 4 113 reviews (most reviewed ever?)

Horizon 109 reviews

Until Dawn, a niche game, has 103 reviews

I noticed this back in the PS3 era as well

Heavy Rain 107 reviews

Uncharted 2 105 reviews

GoW 3 101

Compare this to Zeruda Skywod Swod with 81 reviews

http://www.metacritic.com/game/wii/the-legend-of-zelda-skyward-sword

or even BoTW with 94 reviews

Mario 3D World

The closest I've seen get are Halo and Gears, but even they are barely reaching 100.

Just a quick skim comparing Playstation to Nintendo, Playstation titles get more reviews because they have third party Playstation magazines, websites, etc reviewing it. Ex. PS Magazine Australia, PS Universe, etc, etc Same with Xbox. Looking at Nintendo, they don't have a Nintendo official Magazine, but it could just be named differently. But yeah, PS titles seem to be reviewed more, maybe since PS titles have more of a diverse genre that they're accessible to the public and critics more thus they're also reviewed by more.

They have the biggest market share, and are perphaps less "shy" about sending out review copies than the other two are (maybe the others are more selective in who they send copies too, or allow to review them, so they score better).

Probably because Playstation has been the most popular console every generation it's been in and the hardcore crowd is arguably larger than the Nintendo fans..

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Developers sent the best version (higher review scores) to reviewers and with the PS4, and espcially the pro, it has a heads up over the Xbox One.

We might see slightly more xbox reviews from western developers partnering with microsoft for Scorpio support, like warner bros with middle earth.

Anyway as long as the PS4 is around it will be the most reviewed console, more powerfull base model, higher install base and higher fan base which also meens people will want to see the PS4 reviews and will look on metacritic and other sites on the PS4 section of the game.

There isn't much competition between xbox and ps4, sony won on every front and it shows.

There are more Sony sites. I thought that much was obvious...

Good find. Not sure what conclusion we can get from this though........

Pocky Lover Boy!

Only interesting thing here is how even PS3 games got more coverage. PS4 makes sense at least.

And yet mass effect andromeda scored lower on PlayStation than Xbox despite a higher resolution and more consistent framerate. It's weird.

Because PS3 dominated in Europe and many countries in europe have their own reviews, makes perfect sense. If Xbox was ever a thing in Europe it might get more coverage, it proberbly won't and the market share- fanbase and amount of playstation sites is expidentially larger in europe, maybe except for the UK which was and still is a pretty big country for Microsoft.

In the end it doesn't really matter, a good game is generally a good game on both platforms the only real "bad ports" are generally on pc with a rare exception here and there ^^
