Forums - PC Discussion - Nier Automata port for pc its sooo bad - Update: Thank you Modders!

Most helpfull review on Steam says:

"Resolution is not locked at 1080p! FPS capped at 60.
Just a quick heads-up for people on the fence because of a possible resolution lock: There seems to be none! (to a maximum of 4k at least)

I'm able to play the game at 2560x1440 without problems. There is a 60fps cap!

Fixing the Fullscreen Resolution Bug
Some users report problems with the full screen mode. If you have problems running the game fullscreen with your intended resolution, try the small application called Borderless Gaming. You can find it on github. Run the game in Windowed Mode and select Nier: Automata in the tool. Voila, you are playing the game in Borderless Windowed mode now! Until SE provides a fix for Fullscreen, use this tool. It's easy and quick.

Performance
Despite the Fullscreen Bug, the port seems to be running smoothly and at a steady 60fps! I'm playing with a GTX 980ti, so it should be expected to run fine. (I had no problems with the resolution and fullscreen, it seems to vary between systems.)

yeap but i really want to play ;/

Let's see for how long. Nier was the thing I started playing once I stopped having fun in BOTW.

Probably for more than 100 hours as most normal people with a taste.

It's not really the best port job in the world, but it's also not the worst either.

It's not going to be considered "PS4 exclusive", not even AK was considered "console exclusive", not since it's actually released on PC, unless you want to include those titles that run like ass on consoles.

The global illumination mod is fully out btw: http://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-first-global-illumination-performance-mod-for-nier-automata-is-now-available/

Hopefully Platinum actually does their job soon and sorts out those issues, maybe then will I buy the game.

Also I've seen the reviews, they speak volumes just like the Pirate Warrior 3 reviews, very positive because there are fans on Steam that are very, very starved for japanese games, so they take what they can get, even if the port job like PW3 was inferior to PS4, standards be damned.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

If by "taste" you mean "having nothing better to play", then yes. Probably a very long time.

Nah, with taste I mean the opposite of thinking Dragon Age 2 or Gothic 3 are the best of its frachises :P

That's longer than the average completionist playthrough

That's not what I'm hearing from all the people I know with the game though, me myself have 70 hours into it but only 1 out of 4 dungeon completed and 1 out of 12 memories found, I have yet to put my feets in half of the zones of the map :P

You can see people who listed a leisurely playstyle going over 100 hours without completing everything. That's the nature of open world games. You can waste a lot of time in the sandbox.

I know and I'm probably going slow, but compared to all the cases I know included mine the average from that web seems surprisingly low, but again, is like 0.01% of the people that has played the game and only 10 has completed it, is not too representative.

I used the SKIM64 mod and FUCK YEAH now i'm playing on high settings 1080p with 60 fps :)
