Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do you have gaming memories that you miss? I'm covered in feels right now!

I miss the epic battles we used to have in Alterac Valley while playing World of Warcraft. I remember staying in games all night, basically until it got so late that the amount of players started dwindling. Nothing quite like winning an 8+ hour game that you were in from the very start that didn't wrap up until dawn. So satisfying to see all those kills load up on the screen at the end. Best part of WoW for me.

My cousin would drop by a few times a year, bringing cool NES games like Super C & TMNT 2, and we'd play those as late as allowed, then get up at like 4 or 5 and get right back to it.

My first apartment was kinda crazy - best friend lived in the other half of the house, so we connected our Xboxes via cord under our crappy doors. Basically one of us could pound on the wall and shout "Halo, asshole!" and we'd get a game going. Occassionally we'd have a ton of people over with additional systems and have this ridiculous daisy chain of Xboxes going with four players each, couple kegs of cheap nasty beer in a central location to keep hydrated.

I don't think I've been sucked into an open world, heart and soul, since Fallout 3, which came out halfway through high school. I got consumed by that world, which I made mine in whatever way I pleased. I miss having that kind of time to truly get sucked into a game. Now I play games with such a task-oriented, checklist mindset, partly because I have too much to do in adult life. When I played Fallout 4, I turned it off the moment I got the Platinum trophy, but back with F3, I probably put 200 hours into it just exploring, sneaking, and appreciating the world. I wonder where my sense of wonder went.

OH and the summer I played Persona 4 in my friend's pool house. We went through that game as a group, and developed a pretty deep connection with it and the series. I miss those days, we all live so far apart now.

Can't think of anything really specific right now, but I have fond memories of playing Dynasty Warriors games with my brother and friends. We played those games a lot and had a ton of fun doing so. Nothing specific about it, it's just playing them in general that was great.

So so many. I really feel like I won't enjoy games like that again.

Main memories would be:

2003 - Playing Dreamcast (mainly Sonic Adventure) in the barn.
2006 - Grinding hard on Runescape.
2007 - First getting a Wii and playing Wii Sports.
2008 - First playing Call of Duty 4 online at my friend's. It blew my mind.
2009 - Completing MW2 in one sitting on Christmas day.
2010 - Being insanely hyped for FFXIII.
2012 - Playing the DayZ mod and later Arma II Wasteland all day with my step brother.
2013 - Being totally absorbed in Persona 4 Golden for an hour before bed every night.

2D plataformers in SNES, DKC123 foremost. I played a lot and it was the awesome moment in my gamming life.
Also, playing smash melee, MKDD and mario tennis on GC with friends, spend all day and night.

Luckily, Wii U brought me back all these memories. awesome 2D plataformers, and mario kart, smash and mario tennis multiplayer. Thats why wii U is my favorite console ever. (they ruined some of the experiences on wii, with forced motion controls, so, i couldnt enjoy on wii like i did on wii u)

All nighters on Goldeneye,Perfect dark and Turok 2. Playing OoT and discovering Hyrule field. Playing Oblivion for the first time too and been like wow.

I remember playing the n64 with my brothers and cousins and friends. The times of Golden eye, turok 2,fifa 98, smash Bros, Mario kart. I also remember playing all 16 maps in double dash with my cousins and brother so many times for hours. Lot of fun. Also when black ops was out me and my cousin would play for hours on search and destroy up to the early morning hours. Miss those days tbh

I have 2 really fond memories of gaming with family and buds:

N64: Goldeneye, Mario Kart, Duke, Starfox battles play mixing beer and pizza for 4-5 hours! Crazy laughs and fun.
Going to a LAN party playing Starcraft: Brood War online with 7 other friends into the wee hours of the night.

I game.  You game.  We game.

I'm a videogamer, not a fanboy, but have a special place for Nintendo.
