Neh, I always buy Samsung ones than Sandisk ones but both are usually good. Samsung ones never failed me once so I prefer them more. I have had issues with Sandisk in the past with my phones but never Samsung.

Further investigation however debunks this theory and highlights that the problem actually lies with a faulty batch of SD cards being sold via online retailer Amazon and not the Nintendo Switch itself.

Well according to it, some people put the micro-sd card in their GoPro and Laptop which also resulted in it being melted so...

if you look closely, or even at all, it appears what really happened was a sticker was attached to the SD card when he put it in the Switch. the Switch then got hot and melted the glue. the plastic on the SD card itself doesnt appear melted at all
Damn that's the card I just bought! Haven't opened yet so I'll return it tomorrow.
