Forums - Gaming Discussion - Digital Foundry: BOTW framerate better overall on Switch than WiiU

Testing farther into the game Digital Foundry found that while the Switch version of Breath of the Wild still has framerate issues in docked mode, they are noticeably less frequent and less severe than the Wii U version no matter wherether the game is played in docked or portable mode.  Portable mode is still the smoothest experience.

Nice to get further confirmation that the Switch version is the superior version, and thhat it runs the game both better and at a higher resolution, even if it could be better still.

Not long until the Wii U version will eclipse the Switch version.

I suppose bad is good compared to worse.

720p 20fps master race present!

At least we can say that Xeno X was the high point of technical achievement on the WiiU.

My impression after watching DF analysis was I might just get the Wii U version.  It looks less sharp, but misses nothing from the Switch, and the GamePad has superior controls to JoyCons.

I think Zelda is more impressive, only thing is lacking is the frame rate. Chronicles X sacrificed collision detection, has popping everywhere and lacks the complex physics of Breath of the Wild.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Yeah.  I think it's safe to say that BOTW is pushing the Wii U to its limits.

I dunno about that but definitely get it for Wii U. Not only do you not have to spend $300+ more, you're still getting the same experience (albeit slightly less portable).

The BuShA owns all!

Should be the case, but the Wii U version is just fine

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Watched the video, looking only at WiiU's side of it, and I didn't notice the framerate drops.

I guess I'm lucky.
