I am more surprised at how low the Wii-U version of Zelda is. A lot of Wii-U owners must have jumped ship to the Switch right away.

Saying it's surprising is very different than claiming zelda was a failure, especially when there are no numbers, and according to japanese retailers zelda botw is sold out in most places. |
Yeah, the comment you answered to was indeed really excessive...
I've been defending Disgaea 5 on NeoGAF to my last breath, insisting that it'll sell fine and everything will be fine, but that looks like an unmitigated disaster. Oh dear.
Can we all just take a moment to acknowledge that "Winning Post 8 2017" is 16th?

Not really. Even though Zelda is the more popular game (classic franchise vs new IP), way more people have a PS4 than a Switch at this point. So more people can buy Horizon than Zelda. Zelda will have way better legs, though. |
hm.. I think Nintendo could sell 250-300k Switches and 150-200k copies of Zelda (Switch version) week 1, while my week 1 estimate for Horizon would be 75-110k
that ofcourse doesn't mean that Zelda has to sell more at every retailer, so the Tsutaya and Comg (where Horizon won aswell) charts might simply be examples of retailers with fairly low Switch shippings
Also, Tsutaya rankings always have Sony games in higher positions, but when it comes to Media Create and Famitsu Nintendo games show better sales. I think Tsutaya has more of a PlayStation fanbase.

I hope both do well, but a new IP will always struggle to keep up with one of the most stories series in gaming.

You mean how Splatoon beat any home console game in Japan this gen? I guess thats also a failure to everybody there.

With combined versions I´m sure Zelda won :D |
Horizon is the top selling game on any one platform this week on tsutsaya. I don't care for adding other platform versions together especially when Horizon is on one platform. It won fair and square and I'm happy it did!
