Do you still think tha VR is the future of gaming? last year everyone was hyped buying peripherals for PCS, phones and the ps4 because VR was the new thing. I don't have a vr peripheral cause I don't care about the content yet, that could change in the future we'll see. Right now I don't see the VR hype, I know about people who have a vr device and are enjoying the experience, but I don't see the mass appeal.

I feel it's still in it's early stages. I do believe VR is the future of gaming just not in it's current state.

Not for all gameing... but yes.

It will slowly build until it reaches a point where the masses will buy into it. Not on par with phones this gen but something along the lines of how the Wii pulled in people back in 07 and 08.

I'm talking about gaming, do you think that vr has a future in gaming? Cause VR will be a success  with the right applications in the future (netflix, facebook, live concerts, etc) that's for sure. The only way I see it happening is if there's a VR console right out of the box.

I don't see it. It be a bonus thing, yes. But, not everyone using it. The thing with this type of stuff. They're addons to existing things, you already do. Second: They need you to do extra things, for entertainment. VS just a TV. Turn on, start console, play game. I'm ignoring the cost too. Just the fact of all the extra stuff. And than you having to take it off. To use your phone, and other generic things. Plus, people watching TV shows. While sitting down, near their TV set, is really stupid inception. It's like 3D TV. It's not really anything mind blowing. That you will want do over and over again. VS someone coming home. And hitting a power button.

People are lazy. And if something requires a few more extra steps. Forget it. Wii Fit died. 3D TV went nowhere, past another option you can do. And people still say: I love digital. Because I don't have to get up and switch discs anymore. So really. Having a giant head piece. Plus all the countless sensors around your room. Pets or kids knocking them over. Or you just having no room for it. Just no way, for most. VR will be just there. But not important.

I have the Samsung Gear VR.  Only using it a handful of times, I find it NEAT.  This whole "future of gaming" is way overstated. I see it as another option for gaming such as handhelds, home consoles, or VR.  They all have different aesthetical qualities.  VR is great for emmerive education purposes, but that's a different topic in and of itself.  In regards to gaming, it depends on the genre.  An easy example would be most genres in the first person which allow the players to easily and quickly assess their environment.  But you have other genres such as fighting, strategy, and rpg that won't benefit as much with a 360 degree perspective.  With all that being said, I see it having a mass appeal for casual use not neccesarily replacing what we already have.

No, VR is its own thing with it's own genre of video games, it's not there to replace traditional gaming.

BTW, I picked "It's the future but not for gaming" because it's the closest to my view point.

VR will be a coexisting market with video games. It's not going to replace the way games are traditionally played.

The correct answer is "It's a form of gaming." It lack many things people want from gaming as a whole but it's great for other things. It's an option.

... but then sadly mobile phone gaming is technically also an option.

Hmm, pie.
