Forums - Gaming Discussion - This has easily been the best 30 day for the current console Gen

Great number of quality games, Nioh, Nier, and Horizon are among my big 2017 titles with Zelda and Mass Effect not being far behind. I doubt October or November will match this .

Poor Ghost Recon..lol.

It's DOA. Mediocre at best, surrounded by so many great games and no PVP at launch spells disaster. I predict a critical and commercial failure. It's too bad, because technically and graphically it's impressive and the devs created an amazing world.

Isn't it the most popular beta test ever though?

Can't help but disagree. Horizon disappointed me and the rest... couldn't give a fuck about them. Don't know about best 30 day period, but at the very least I think the launch month for PS4/Xbox One was better. Yeah, I'd take Knack & Killzone Shadow Fall over all the games mentioned in the OP anyday.

Woah! What didn't you like about it?

I've found Gen 8 to be really fun, though my main issue is that prices for games and consoles are just going up and up D:

Just feels kind of generic open world with a slightly different skin to me. Hopefully the story will pick up as I get further in to it, but so far that too has felt cliched and predictable.

But...but... what about the giant robot dinosaurs! And the combat! And those graphics! What did you think about The Witcher 3, GTAV, and MGSV? Are you generally not a big fan of open world games?

Yeah this has been an overwhelming period, and I thought it was just me. There were plenty of games last year too, but none seemed too targeted to what I like. THIS SPRING, however, has been nuts. I cannot believe we are getting or have already gotten a Persona, Mass Effect, Zelda, Resident Evil, excellent souls-ish game, and a massive top-tier new IP from Sony in such a short span. I only wished some of these could have been released last year when I actually had time. I only just started Nioh. No idea when I'll make time for Horizon.

games have been 60 bucks since like the N64. Now if you do the season's pass thing I get why the cost would be higher, but you are also getting more time out of the game. N64 games were 60 bucks and online did not exist yet, so there were just a few game that offered "infinite" replay if you had a few friends or siblings that you could play with (Mario Kart, Goldeneye, etc)

You left out Nier Automata :)

Not familiar with it.

I platinumed Nioh, but still was not tired of it. Started Horizon and now I have Zelda.... I doubt I will be done with these 2 by the time Mass Effect releases.

I understand, there are way too many games coming out to get them all, but if you liked Nioh, you might like Nier. The setting is very different, but it's still a 3rd-person swordplay based game. Way less Souls-ish than Nioh, but a lot of fun from the demo.
