i'll take 2.
Why did they only put price drops on the 1080? Wouldn't putting 1060 and 1070 cheaper make sales improve?

The 1080 is by far the most affected from this and just lost a ton of value. The 1070 is not affected by what is happening in the high end. You don't drop the price of a Golf just because you release a new Porsche.
Maybe it's gonna get a slight drop when Vega hits.

Don't worry, It's probably something like 95638656612 bits.

Give it to me. I'll even pay shipping.

That is because the memory bus is tied to the ROPS, so when nVidia cut down the Rops from 96 to 88 it meant the memory bus width got slashed from 384bit to 352bit.
nVidia basically gives every 8 Rops, 1GB of memory on a 32bit bus with Pascal.
This still isn't a fully enabled Pascal chip.
In order to counter the reduced bandwidth and rops, nVidia drove up the clock rates.
Now nVidia could have taken the approach it has used before and simply included 2Gb of memory on one of the ROP/32-bit Memory bus... But that brings with it a caveat. Once you hit the last 2Gb of memory, performance can tank.

I also want to wait for Volta but Volta Ti is still so far away. Maybe this time I'll splurge on a Titan if it comes out early.

Yeah, and i think i heard Volta would feature HBM(HBM3 maybe?) and fully FP16 support.
