hopefully. but to think this problem actually affects the hardcore nintendo fans the most, it surely is disheartening.

It affects a tiny minority of early buyers, vast majority of people has a normal wifi to download the patch

Making a huge deal about this is typical of the internet but is just really irrational.

Saying something as a tiny minority without statistic is also irrational

My "at home wifi" (at my last apartment) required me to log into a website and click ok.

Thus this would be impossible me if I was there. I don't know what percentage of apartments are like that, but the number isn't 0.

That is so strange, I never heard of personal wifi having internet authentication. Hopefully Nintendo resolves it for individuals like you. However I hope you aren't getting ripped off if you do have internet authentication.

Thousands of people who live on army barracks and university's may have this problem too........

Are you for real? Is obvious most people have a normal wifi in their houses, do you really need a statistic for that? if I tell you most people don't eat their phones would you ask me for a statistic too? this is just trying to make a huge deal out of nothing honestly, this was a problem before we knew about the day 1 patch, now, it really isn't.

Ya that is the most problamtic, barracks one namely, since it would be very challenging getting anywhere.

The more I hear about missing features, the more I think this thing was rushed for a March launch so it could be reflected on Nintendo's financials. Hopefully this really is a soft launch and it picks up during the fall into the holidays in terms of functionality, features, etc.

Forget the statistic. It's abt empathy. You can always say you dont have problem with it until it really affects you. Seriously, if you're not affected by this, good for you. I knw for sure everyone in my apartment is gon be affected by this. I knw for sure many students that live in a dorm are gon be affected by this. Not everyone has an ideal life like yours.

Oh please, this is getting ridiculous, should I feel bad for those people with no internet at all because they cannot play Splatoon 2 or what?

In order to be fully affected by this you need:

- An authentication-required wifi router where you live
- No mobile phone (because they can be used as a router to download the patch)
- Not a single friend or familiar near with normal wifi to use it for few minutes to download the patch
- Being an early buyer

Is so damn hard to be fully affected by this is kind of hilarious we are wasting so much time arguing about it.

or nintendo just needs to add a browser before the launch and saves everyone the trouble. A simple solution without lots of buts
