SSJ12 why didn't you tell us that the new firefox beta was released in the news section?
I was getting used to finding the new beta released on this website. You used to give a compact explanation of the improvements so I didn't have to do it myself.

 Beta 5 was released?

Yeah I had to go through all of the 750 improvements.

edit: That 750 number is from Firefox 2 to Firefox 3 beta 5, not beta 5 from beta 4 it seems.

LOL OS X leopard also had its issues and in some regards still does like Rosetta Stone not working or AE CS3 not working in 10.5.0 and several crashes which have been fixed with 5.2 and 5.1 which brougth other issues.

SSJ12 RC stands for Release Candidate there were problems with RC1 and when they fixed them it caused other issues that lead to what you see in RC2. I like RCs but I know they are not perfect and are out there solely to get a large number of logs on other problems and configurations they aren't accounting for yet. XP and Vista RCs had issues that weren't in the final build. But yeah you don't download a RC/Beta/Alpha software on a system you intend to use. What for the official release.

I have ran into no issues with RC1 and i know what RC stands for... I know computers pretty darn well.

Well I have no doubt you do since you down;loaded it but not everyone does so I felt the need to make that clear for all posters.

As a persone who was a MSDN subscriber and who has run Longhorn(vista), Whistler(XP) betas as well as RCs. I can say this is not that unusual. When you fix a bug it can cause other bugs. Your computer may not have had an issue with RC1 but this does not mean that no one else did. If there was another bug that you ddin't experience and they fixed it could of screwed up something else which is what you are seeing now and why you have a RC2. My question are you reporting the bug to microsoft and submitting logs because this is the stuff they want. A perfect RC does them no good until release.

All I can says is...

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAAAAHHAHHAHAHAHhahahhahahaha...haha.ha.erhm.

You installed an RC and are complaining about it have issues. Seriously ssj12, what were you expecting. That's why they put out RC's. To test. You are their beta tester.

Can't you go in safe mode and remove the update? If not, ???. I guess you will have to either wait for a fix or format c.

Hey I saw somewhere on the net that its possible to be able to switch between Vista and XP Operating systems on the same PC. It looked a bit complicated to me so I did not go out and get Vista and give it a go.

Its as easy as can be.  Thats what I am currently running XP & Vista, mainly XP.  Just have two partitions or more, install them both, basically done. :P

So... you installed a release candidate and ran into problems?  Shocking.  Despite that I wish I could help you; I can only assume other people have run into it too so perhaps Google may yet save you.

As an aside, Pidgin is a solid IM client.  I actually switched to it from Trillian.  Trillian Pro feels very clunky when handling multiple accounts.  Everything else about it was solid though (and skins were great).

Anyway, I'll wait for a bit after the official release has been in the wild for a bit before jumping onboard.

See the thing is I have been using the SP3 beta for a while.  The jump from beta was from v3100 to v3300.

RC1 to RC2 was just v3300 to v3311.  Should have just been code clean up.  Its not shocking that there are bugs, jsut rather annoying that the minor code clean-up should have problems like this.

You never know.  The problem with large bodies of code is that you always run the risk of a side effect by changing even small pieces.  Sadly, it doesn't take a lot to do some damage when it comes to software, all it takes is one incorrectly typed lline or missing piece and things start breaking.

I trust, ssj12, that you didn't install it on your mission critical PC.

^Ubuntu and fork friends would like a play, too.

I think VGChartz would be the last place to post a question like this. Why on earth would you?

this is b/c vista

Not surprised tbh, the second SP made my Windows crash and that of three of my friends (at the same LAN...). They (MS) have a track record of screwing up updates. One MSN Live update a few years back actually stopped Win32 Installer, or WireN Net as it is called on some versions, to stop working at all.
