Forums - Microsoft Discussion - People Worrying about Nintendo when they should be worrying about Microsoft [Opinion]

Can't disagree that they have the smallest overall install base this gen... the thing is though, Microsoft basically runs the show with their software on PCs. And their upcoming Windows 10 Gaming and Play Anywhere, they have their bases covered. Nintendo needs to get a grip before they have no more lifelines.

Let's not spin this thing. Not one bit! For Nintendo to go from what Wii was to where the company is now is scary. An analogy about spaghetti and walls comes to mind. X1 may be behind it's main competitor but it's thriving. Nintendo will soon abandon WiiU and Switch is a huge "?". I'm sure MS board rooms aren't nearly as tension-filled as Nintendo's.

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

What some of you don't seem to understand is that the point of consoles is to sell software. If you look at the charts xb1 games have been selling just fine. Not as well as ps4 games, but well enough.

But has it? Because so far its best selling game is Black Ops 3 which is at 4.6 million whereas the Wii U's best selling game, Mario Kart 8 is at 7.5 (just from quick look at this websites charts dont no if 100% up to date or accurate)

That's because the WIi U has a lot fewer games, so it's skewed towards a few titles. The software sales are probably way higher on the XBO.

The main issue is MS can't sell in Japan. They have cancelled a lot of exclusives this gen. Everything is avail on PC giving less incentive to buy a XBO.

I agree. The Scorpio is there last attempt to impress the CEO at MS or it will be consumed by Windows. Not because of Sony or Nintendo but because MS is about big profits not little gains. Wouldnt affect me since i game on PC however i cant wait to see the competition take advantage of there consumers once they leave the industry. Nintendo will be in the market for many years so yeah Xbox will be the first to go.

It's really hard to tell who will exit first. On one hand Scorpio feels like Microsofts final attempt and on the other hand Switch seems like Nintendo just doesn't care anymore. It'll be really interesting to see who leaves the console market first.

I always find this argument funny. How much software has XB1 sold in total compared to Wiiu? If it's more, then a few games selling well on wiiu clearly aren't enough. As for BO3 being its most successful, Halo 5 shipped 5m in its first 3 months, so these numbers aren't accurate (which is still besides the point).

Well if you are gonna count handhelds than might as well throw PCs in the mix. OMG what are Sony and Nintendo gonna do look how many people have PCs and Xbox. Sony and Nintendo are like a billion people behind in install bases might as well pack it up.

Well... I only give one example, But if you want another; Pokemon Sun and Moon sold 7.2 million copies in ONE WEEK.

Besides I stated they might not be accurate and say otherwise if so, I only used the charts from this website.

Troll alert, poor job though.

This thread ia strange, has a lot of random users in it.

As for Microsoft has pc, many people buy Microsoft pc's, or just Microsoft's hardware?

Just focusing on its Xbox division likewise with Sony's Playstation division and I guess all of Nintendo since its video game only focused.
