Forums - Nintendo Discussion - How can a company be this out of touch...

Seeing how you were very dissapointed with Ninty around this time last year, I wonder if you still feel that way? Or have you come around on the Switch and it's library within the last year?

(Not trying to throw salt btw., I'm legitimately interested if and how your opinion has changed :))

I already mentioned this thread a couple of times in reference to how my opinion changed. I still stand by that this was a terrible reveal video, but as the Switch grew closer to launch, and especially after the last E3, I'm actually interested in getting one now. Maybe when Smash releases :)

Damn...

The irony.

The fact that MohammadBadir made this thread makes me very sad... ;_;

What can I say, mate. I could only take so much of this disheartening. In nearly 2 decades, since the day I picked up my first gameboy color, this is the first time I legitimately feel embarrassed to be a Nintendo fan. I don't hate them, oh no, nor do I hate their games. I hate their outdated management that seem to think that people will shell out 400$ to play Arms and 12Switch.

As much as I liked the Wii, it's ultimately what's ruining Nintendo today. The management is too arrogant. They want Wii/DS success levels when it's next to impossible after the rise of smartphones. You'd think the losses they had in the 8th gen would've been enough to snap them out of it, but I guess not.

I still stand by what I said before: The day Ninty possibly quits game development, I stop playing games. Maybe the occasional retro stuff, or something I develop, but that's it.

You're probably quite glad to be wrong I'd imagine.

I haven't really seen you around lately, so I didn't quite know. But that's nice to hear! :)

Personally, I was a little underwhelmed by the reveal, but not as dissapointed, looking back a lot of my cautiousnes was releated to the lost trust during the wiiu era. But a year of solid releases and no broken release dates, has made me more confident in Ninty again. That, and the fact that I love my switch. :P

Seems like you were surprised.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

I almost forgot how incredibly stupid 1-2 Switch, and HD Rumble were. $300 wound up being a good pricepoint. Being portable costs money. If Wii U was completely portable it would have launched at $400.

This is gold! Oh my god.

What are you talking about? It was a great reveal video! It's one of the best launch campaigns in console history.

The bottom line is you were wrong. But I'm guessing you were happily wrong.

*cheers*

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Tis a point where you even see people admit to mishandling the post reveal impressions.

When Jim Sterling makes a video where he comments he made mistakes about some of his issues with it (mostly the line up), you know people aren't reading it all that well.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

I have been saying this since Nintendo announced DS and people claimed it would be the death of Nintendo's handhelds and eventually the death of the company. Gamers have been out of touch for more than a decade.

Today I see people praising Gamecube like it was not Nintendo's worst selling home console before Wii U released. People want Nintendo to return to that... people are out of touch.

As for this topic, hahahaha.
