Forums - Nintendo Discussion - We shouldn't expect to see Pokemon Stars at the Switch event.

Do you think we'll see Pokemon Stars on the 12th?

Just your friendly neighborhood dolphin here to help keep everyone's expectations in check! Many many MANY people are psyched to finally see Pokemon in HD and on the big screen, myself included, but I think we're gonna have to wait much longer than 4 days before the dream becomes reality.

It's simply too soon, only 3 months have passed since Sun/Moon came out, a game that still doesn't even have PokeBank compatibility. Plus I highly doubt Stars would release any sooner than October, which if I'm right would mean there's no need to reveal it this far out from launch date. I'm predicting it wont be unveiled until March, right before the Switch launch, though April is also possible.

Really the only way I see it being revealed on Thursday is if they pull the same troll that they did with Sun/Moon's "reveal," a.k.a. just the logos and... literally nothing else! /)_-

I agree. They will let at least a whole of year between SM and Stars, or people is going to feel ripped off.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I don't know what to expect and that makes me look foward to the switch event.

You mean from release to release right? OR/AS was revealed around 6 months after X/Y released, nothing wrong with that.

I agree, I expect it to be revealed at E3.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I don't think so either. Something would have been teased, and nothing has

Yes. Although I don't know how much time are they going to take before the 8th gen games arrive. Maybe for the 25th anniversary, but if that's true, that would be: Sun/Moon End of 2016, Stars 2017-2018. Shinnoh Remake ¿SM Sequel? 2019. 8th gen 2020. Almost a game per year. People are going to be tired, let some breathing space between releases. A game every two years seems like a better schedule.

Well obviously, don't wanna cut Sun and Moon's legs short now.

Pokemon has always been a yearly series though, with an occasional year break here and there, like last year. If people aren't already tired then at this point they never will be!
