I bet you guys said the same shit about the people who said the wii u wouldn't do well. Nintendo has a history of repeated shortages with multiple products across decades and no company at that level of success would have those kind of shortages by accident. It would be a epic fuck up on nintendo's part if that was the case and the person who's responsible for the shortages would have been fired decades ago. Besides, Amiibos are proof enough that Nintendo uses scarcity marketing.

Although it isn't related to the topic at had, I'll answer: I don't remember saying anything to Rol or other people who claimed that the Wii U would fail, so you're wrong again.
You haven't adressed the holes in your theory I pointed out in my previous post. Or how announcing that they'll keep producing the SNES mini in 2018 due to increased demand fits in it. Or why they somehow forget to use shortages with their products that are a failure (the ones that needed them the most). I mean, if Microsoft can create Xbox shortages in Japan, Nintendo should be a ble to create them too.
You say that the person responsible of the shortages would've been fired years ago. And who would be his/her infallible replacement? One of those industry analysts who can't agree on the potential of their products? You, who predicted 30-40M Switches lifetime this summer? Yeah, I'm sure Nintendo would've shipped more Switches to Japan than just enough to match the sales of the system with the best first year ever (a system that has sold over 20M in Japan alone) if you were in charge.
And it wouldn't be so bad if you just posted and didn't call gullible to users who disagree with your views.

I was talking about ninty fans in general so I'm right on that. Do you think that my point hinges on if you said something or not. lol It's possible that you said something considering your reaction to me but you did specifically doesn't matter.
What holes? Announcing they'll keep producing more minis doesn't matter because they can say anything and no one is gonna hold them to it like it's some kind of contract. They can increase production each year and make sure it doesn't quite meet demand or have too much supply. Scarcity marketing only works on hot products because there has to be some demand in the first place. MS doesn't treat any market outside of the US seriouslly and I don't see why you're bringing up xbox.
It doesn't matter who the replacement and I never offered a suggestion. That's a strawman because that point is anyone who fucks up that much would be fired. Who gets job doesn't matter.
What analysts say doesn't matter in this. They're guessing for the most part and nintendo has the best idea out of anyone how in demand their product is and they know exactly how much product they can purchase.
So? It could play out like that. The wii u sold less than most low ball predictions. There's some ninty fans with prections for the NS being around 150 mil. It's just a prediction. It's not end of the world.
What a way to cherry pick that post. Let's some add some context.
"Yeah, man. The shortages happen.... because nintendo is so incompetent...I meant because nintendo has a hard time predicting demand.... that they haven't figured out how to not have to shortages since the NES.
There's no way nintendo is using scarcity marketing to help sell their products..... even though they do timed sales, limited run products, limited special editions of products, had repeated shortages over a wide range of their products and...... turned digital DLC (no shortages because it's digital) into toy-like figurines that give you access to exclusive DLC which.... somehow had shortages all the time.
gul·li·ble (gŭl′ə-bəl)
adj.
Easily deceived or duped."
I didn't just call ninty fans gullible and just dip out. Honestly, it wasn't wise to cherry pick/quote that particular post from me.....
