Forums - General Discussion - Man kicked out of airplane for speaking Arabic

One would think people with bad intentions do not try to raise suspiscion beforehand...

That being said, the way he reacts isn't really helping his case. All for the views baby!

Perhaps this has something to do with the recent attacks of IS and that two planes once flew into two world trade center buildings in NY. Both of these where according to most media isalmic terrorist attacks. Feel free to believe otherwise though, since there are conspiracy theories the US did it to themselves for oil. So yeah I get it, also the plane with Russians which crashed a while ago in Egypt also was rumoured to be a terrorist attack since on the black box they could retrieve something that indicated the plane exploding mid-air. I don't think it is totally unjustified for people being anxious when someone starts speaking arabic on an airline which doesn't come from an Arabic country.

thats like saying its rational and ok for people in italy to be scared of a black man speaking with an american accent while in a store. since the black arrest rate for robbery was 8.55 times higher than whites in the USA. or people in a school in germany being afraid of an american, since the number of school shootings in the USA since 2013 is over 200. the actions of the few (very few), certainly do not represent the actions of the many. and being afraid of someone because he is speaking a different language is the definition of ignorance, and will certainly lead to prejudice.

Wrong because black people aren't going to Italy to shoot people up.

Now just imagine being killed by a paranoid that overreacts to anything. Speaking Arabic isn't jump scaring people, there have been scientists reported as Arab terrorists by ignorant people with shit instead of brains in their skulls and kicked off planes for having a beard and writing math formulas with greek letters.

Well that wasn`t even about what was in the OP. It was about people trying to negatively surprise people with pranks. Like if somebody were to jump out at you or something.

Besides, based on the person in the OP and what he does as `jokes` I would not be surprised at all if he shouted out things like `bomb` or something like that an airport and I think it would be totally ok if the police or whatever they have at airports shot him for that. If you don`t want to be treated like a threat then don`t act like one, simple really.

I've said several fucking times that I disagree with those types of 'pranks'. But no, I guess I'm just an attention whore who enjoys running around being an asshole to others.

I find this very disappointing. What's even worse is the people waving goodbye and smiling that he's being kicked off.

Edit: so apparently he's the type of person to make those stupid pranks. Question is, are they simply dumb, or are they "isis on planes!" Pranks? Even if they're horrible and not funny, it'd be a bit shallown to kick him off if it isn't anything bad

I'd hate to bash on all airline employees though. I'd also not want to jump to bashing everyone. These types of incidents are obvious one out of a million, so it's clear that it's simply bad judgement. However, it's unfortunate that we must still deal with such prejudice.

One can hope that 2017 brings change.

Your racist hunt failed in an epic manner.

Now show some honest behaviour and edit your OP properly, including the thread title, so that it becomes clear for everybody that it's this foreign instigator and provocateur that should be in focus and discussed, rather than imagined "white racists".

I don't want to edit it, for the reason that it honestly doesn't matter anymore.

I said I'm wrong several times, but it's too late. I admitted that he isn't an innocent victim and that these 'pranks' aren't ok. However, my words have been taken entirely out of context and now im being bashed for things I never condoned.

This.

Airports don't put up with much bullshit. If you bring attention to yourself at the airport the cops/security will investigate it immediately.

Investigating for serious reasons is different from doing it because ignorant paranoids report anything they don't understand, like a bearded scientist writing formulas, in the latter case the really disruptive ones are the ignorant paranoids, and despite that prankster being quite an idiot on average, this time the prank just wasn't so stupid and actually pointed out this ignorant and paranoid attitude.

But if you see the guys video history on youtube he has made a ton of flight related "prank" videos over the past 12 months, this is a person who makes his living by getting millions of views on videos where he goes on planes with the intention of raising a certain response, he is setting out with the goal of getting removed from flights so the fact that it happened after at least a year of doing these videos just shows in fact how tolerant people are that he hasn't been chucked from a flight earlier, all that happened for the past year of this guys youtube career is he made efforts to make people uncomfortable on flights and was not removed.

Defend when this stuff actually happens, do not defend someone who is trying to make money from controversy caused like this, you are literally defending someone getting exactly what they want from this flight.

Delta have already made a statement that after interviewing staff and other passengers they found that the guy had been shouting and making a scene prior to being kicked off.

Given his track record I am going to chalk this one up to pulling a Joey salads, using accusations of racism to boost his publicity.

What a twat.

Shouting and making a scene in what way? He seems like one of those guys who's obnoxiously loud when he talks to people  he's with. So if he's joking and talking with the people he's with and that's what they consider shouting and making a scene then I don't agree with Delta. Frankly the statement is very broad and lacks any detail. If I had to guess Delta purposely did that because they probably don't have anything reasonable. Think about it if the guy really did something they would flat out say it not release some statement that could mean just about anything.

At the moment Muslims can't be trusted so if people feel safer with him kicked off the plane then it's the right thing to do. Look at what just happened this week in Germany and it's happening all over the world on a common basis and it's pretty much always Muslims involved if you look at Wikipedia.

When people hear that the PewDiePies of the internet become millionaires they really don't care about their own dignity for that possible paycheque of youtube dollars, most of the views this person will generate over this though will be in reaction videos on there of people calling him an idiot. Like it will be a lot of views, but not for his "I intentionally got thrown off a plane" video.

Go ahead and scream "bomb" on a plane or at an airport. Harmless, right? I mean, come on, sometimes you need to use common sense.

But he didn't. The reaction didn't happen directly to an explicit threat, but through personal and biased interpretation of his words, that by themselves nowhere implied a bomb unless stretching them a lot. The thought processes that took to consider him a possible terrorist aren't much more unrefined and wrong than those that took a dumb person to report the bearded scientist and dumb security people to believe that crap.

You don't know how he behaved at the plane, before they told him to go. Or have you seen the full video somewhere??

Why are you defending this guy?!?
