Sure, you can say that. New Super Mario Bros. 2 is doing notably better than Mario Kart 7 when these two games are usually close. |
NSMB2 is being bundled.

Minecraft Wii U is doing great, imagine how much better it could have done if it wasn't late to the party.

FFXIII's third week was still during the holidays whereas we've just started the holiday period for FFXV. The next 3 weeks are what matters. Next week's drop was 66% for FFXIII. Surely FFXV can do much better. Especially since it needs to in order to sell all shipped copies. So far it hasn't been selling below 5,480yen which is great but it should drop in price a lot more once the holidays are over. Also I'm pretty sure horuhe expected below 15k this week :p Edit: Yup lol http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=226579961&postcount=192 Massively beating expectations!! That post is kind of embarassing actually lol |
Yeah i saw. Usually he is on point but sometimes your way off lol. Happens to me alot xD.
XV should sell another 100k at least by years end. I dunno how much over that though

NSMB 2 did so well because of the new 2ds bundle
PS4 is having a peak year so late in its lifecycle in Japan. Especially when compared to handheld peak years. It seems the 2 markets have diverged quite a bit, It makes me wonder if 2017 PS4 can beat 2015 and 2014. Also makes me wonder if the Switch will follow handheld patterns or home console patterns.

It's having very good word-of-mouth and has sold out on Amazon.jp (next shipment: December 25th) so there's a chance of some legs for this one at least. Should pass 100k fairly easily at least. |
It'll at least not sell worse than all of the DS remakes.

Turned it into an action RPG rather than brawler Got rid of the licences for the shops from Akiba Gave it a general low-budget feel (and it already felt pretty low-budget) Dropped the Vita SKU (as they're going to release it at a later date) AKA 'effed just about everything up with it. |
I feel switching from the comedic/slapstick humor fighting to a more serious RPG style with Persona 5 and FF15 just released was a huge mistake.

I think that development cycles have gotten so out of control for consoles, that it allows for these late curves. If DQ11 and FF7 Remake both find a way to release in 2017, I wouldn't be surprised at all if 2017 is better than 2014/5.
