It'd be the same even if they used One Piece, it's just worse because Naruto is considered terrible by a far larger ammount of people

I dunno I think it can be done right given enough care and attention. Movies like Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle, Stormrider Trilogy or even golden oldies like Savior of the Soul show it can be done. 

Anime is so gross it isn't even funny.

The script pretty much writes itself and the cinematic world is really for big animeish effects and photography.

What will really make or break the movie is the cast.

I knew it wouldn't take long for the bullshit express to get going on this thread, but it was close to Neogaf speeds and that frankly surprised me.

Naruto borrows heavily from foreign cultures. Pain and the Six Paths came from indian mythology and religion; Kaguya and the tree of chakra, from babylonian and jewish sources. Half of the japanese concepts on the series ultimately have their roots on China, and so on. Most of the characters themselves aren't even designed to look japanese.

I was just suprise that Hollywood would even do this. They sunk low before, but this is the lowest I ever seen.

Hmmm no Naruto is the most popular anime in the world....well actually no Dragon Ball is probably number one. One Piece has always struggled more because it's even worse than Naruto plus kinda childish in general.
