It's a bit expensive for the specs. Otherwise, why not, Ubuntu runs on Macbook the same way on it as it does on any other Intel hardware.

Only the home/root would be on the SSD, meaning basically the OS, and the applications that comes with it. Basically the games would be installed to a HDD in the range of terabytes. I currently have 120GB SSD, and don't have any problems with space. Although, I do copy photos and videos on optical discs or USB flash anyway, and may delete them afterwards.
