Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Why I am not worried about getting FFXV on the Xbox

FFXV will obviously be best on ps4 pro, but the % of people that have that compared to people with a base ps4 or Xbox, well, they will make sure the game runs fine on those platforms.

The xbox is a great machine, especially with the xbox one S. obv I am getting the PS4 version, since I dont own an xbox, but im getting a scorpio next year, and if microsoft can make it that all games benefit from the performance (like with the xbox360 emulator and xbox one s) then your version will deff see some improvements.

anyway, the game will be great wherever you play :)

(that's if Square even patch it 12 months later for Scorpio which I somewhat doubt)

Didn't even think about that... yeah OP's plan is already flawed then... there's a good chance FFXV won't even get scorpio support.

Im really hoping the scorpio will just boost performance with no patches, thats the dream

It's certainly possible to boost unlocked framerates without patches, I think sony dropped the ball in that regard. But that's as far as unpatched advantages can stretch unfortunately.

Sorry to break it to you but FFXV won't be 4k on the Scorpio or any other console, unless you want to wait for some kind of PS5 remaster

4k FFXV (dynamic res) is a posibility on Scorpio, I don't know why people keep making out like Scorpio's specs fall well short of native 4k requirements. For any Xbox One game that runs native 1080p, 4k will be done with ease on the rumoured Scorpio specs. For 900p games it can be managed with some optimisation. Moreover the specs Scorpio are not set in stone, the machine is still a year away.

its the most important factor for me, if the scorpio does that, its going to be a dream for me, framedrops really get me out of the experience, a friend of mine has an xbox, when he showed me red dead redemption and I compared it to my ps3 experience, I was blown away, really solidly hitting those 30 and 60 fps marks is so important.

We game in a time where almost all games, even remasters like you see in return to arkham, bioshock etc, just don't hit their framerates. if the scorpio improves this, I will proberbly re-buy many games. I would have bought a PRO if sony did this and traded my launch ps4 in for the xbox, but I have hope for the scorpio :) only time will tell.

Anyway, I can deffenitely see people who have an xbox getting their collection for scorpio, also because the xbox is quite nice with large external harddrives, if you just buy a 4-5-6 or even 8TB drive, 7200RPM it makes load times really good, especially since there is no operating system running on that drive, and when you get the scorpio you can just plug the external harddrive in there and continue gaming.

Microsoft deff is doing some things really well in my books <

If the pro is getting a patched or already included option embedded in the disc. You can bet your bottom dollar the Xbox One disc has pro exclusive stuff in it. Microsoft didnt work so hard to get the final fanasy franchise and kill the exclusivity of versus for nothing. If you know Microsoft, theres nothing more that they would like than to have the best looking version of FFXV on their platforms.

I think I might get a GTX 1080 and hope it comes to PC, I think it probably will as Final Fantasy games have been recently. I'd rather build my own scorpio, and have more power while I'm at it!

If Square Enix puts the game on the PC then hell yes. LOL

I think the XBox version is cheaper too so you're off to a good start.

Mark Cerny said, it doesnt take very long for companies to implement upgrades into their games. Literally a fraction of the time. If they are doing it for Sony, they could do it for Microsoft simultaneously. It could also be patched easily. The devs just have to be up for it. Square is a company that has the resources for this and are known for wanting to have the most beautiful games.

This. Microsoft is just waiting for the price of the parts to drop as they develop it.

Buying it to support the game on the system. I also want the story. Once I am done with it, I will have my JRPG fix for the next few months...
