Making games for one doesn't rule out making games for the other though. It's perfectly possible to make your games on Nintendo, Playstation, and Xbox, and profit from all three. We saw this last gen with games like Sonic and COD.

if you have finite resources, which i imagine a lot of these companies do, yeah it kinda does. And we saw with this gen that sometimes it isnt possible considering how poorly those two franchises sold on the Wii U why ignore the most recent numbers?

We should move to a Sony only game environment, because thats where they sell best.

Devs have always had finite resources, never stopped them making money off N64, GCN, and Wii.

And because Wii U is the exception, the outlier, not the norm. On every other Nintendo console, third parties were able to sell.

The Wii although thatbis mainly because it had so much potential and was such a success early on and Nintendo squandered ALL of that potential and their gains from that generation with being slow and cheap toward the end of its life cycle and that same mind set carried into the Wii UK's creation. Which while flawed still had a solid line up of games and features making it a more enjoyable console.

we shouldnt do anything because we are not game developers. Not quite sure how you are trying to disprove my point.

How much games were made for N64 and GC? Not that many compared to the comp, even OG Xbox got more love than GC. Whats your definition of selling? you just cant sell, you have to sell well, and they didnt sell well on N64 and Cube. Wii did ok in the beginning but even that started to fizzle out toward the end. Where everyone else was doing pretty good (looking at you COD)

The proof they sold well is in the fact that companies kept making them. If you're not profiting from a platform, you don't keep greenlighting games on it. EA released 5 Need for Speed games on Gamecube, Capcom 3 Resident Evil games, Sega 5 Sonic series games. Same story on N64 with franchises like WWF, Tony Hawk, and Turok.

Seems that almost everyone has fond memories of their SNES. Never owned one, unfortunately.

That's cos it was freaking awesome. Great first party lineup, great third party support, great graphics, great sound, great controller, it was the whole package.

the volume of games still pale in comparison to what the comp was getting though. If they really sold that well those companies would have given them way more games.
