Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 Bundles

So am I missing something? Or has Sony forgotten to create its major partnerships and PS4 bundles this year? Is Infinite Warfare the only partnership Sony has this holiday season? And why did they not create a major PS4 bundle and custom PS4 for it (in the US)??? Iirc, Xbox created a brand new custom 360 every year for its COD bundles. And now Sony lands this huge partnership and foregoes creating a custom COD PS4 AND a bundle altogether in just the second year of its partnership with activision?

XBO seems to be tearing it up with partnerships lately and for the holiday season. They've had Madden, Fifa, Battlefield so far, creating solid bundles for each, and coupled with the new Xbo S, which has been really popular. Ontop of these major third party deals, they also just released Gears 4 and forza H 3, with major bundles at least for Gears.

Not seeing any evidence of partnership for Titanfall 2 with XBO or PS4. Not sure about final fantasy.

Whats going on with Sony this holiday? Or have I just missed announcements due to spending less time following game news of late?

Sony don't saturate the market in the hope something sticks. They pick their moment and execute it as planned. It works every time but fans always get jumpy until they implement their plan.

The PS5 Exists.

The only one that matters.

Currently they have the FFXV LE console, but that's otherwise it. I don't think it particularly matters though. Tens of millions of people own just a plain black PS4 and that is obviously more than enough. I guess LE consoles are nice to have if you want your system to retain value to resell in a few years.

Retail will have a lot of bundles as usual. In Germany, it's hard to find a PS4 without a game bundled in popular stores so even if there is nothing official, PS4 will still have a lot of bundles as it always had.

Why didn't Sony do a bundle for COD IW for launch? They did that last year. Can't think of a reason why they wouldn't have done it again this year.

I was a bit surprised by the lack of a 1tb COD IW bundle like they did last year, but the Pro might be the reason for that. Remember, though, that the Black Ops 3 bundle wasn't available last year until Christmas.

Sony has marketing rights for Infinite Warfare, Watch Dogs 2 and Final Fantasy XV. I'm surprised they haven't announced a 500gb bundle for one yet but I wouldn't count them out just yet either. It's likely that they'll use the Uncharted bundle as their black friday bundle much like they did last year, though.

Several Call of Duty bundles, at least 2 FF15 bundles, this one too :

And this new one (Amazon France at least) :

And you still have older bundles like the Uncharted one. With the old PS4, PS4 Slim, PS4 Pro, this is likely more than enough in order to not drown the resellers under 20 different SKUs.

EDIT :

Apparently one more :

Those are all European bundles, though, where the ps4 is already extremely dominant. The perplexing thing is that Sony tends to not have many bundles at all in the US, where they would actually provide more help.
