Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What if the new Mario game theme is time travel?

Is it a good idea?

I really liked it! 4 57.14%

Meh 2 28.57%

Its horrible! 0 0%

I wished Nintendo made a Wario game instead. 0 0%

Before I say anything, this is more daydreaming than anything. But that certainly would be awesome, because that theme would allow not only a multitude of different themes and art styles, keeping the game fresh, but it could also allow different gameplay features. For example, in "future", it could have galaxy-like mechanics, but in "old west" it could have qá more exploratory aproach, as it having more secrets to uncover, instead of a more A to point B.Then it could have "pre-historical" in which the levels is more centered around using yoshi.

I mean, the potential is endless! What do you guys think?

Disclaimer:Got the idea(or stole to be more acurrate) from the youtuber Ghostrobo.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Nerds Rejoice!

Sounds a bit too story heavy for a Super Mario game.

That would be a neat idea, but will have to wait and see :p

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

I think it's gonna be called Super Mario World (yeah, like the SNES one) and will be about traveling around environments inspired in Earth's actual countries or landmarks.

I've been hoping for a long time Nintendo would do a proper time traveling platform game for a long time, ever since Mario's Time Machine was released on the SNES. It needs to be done right, and not this.

You mean you don't want a learning adventure? I don't see what's so bad about that...

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

I`d mock Nintendo for copying Sony (Crash already did time travel a long time ago).

Although it would also make the game pretty interesting.

it's not copying if loads of other games have done it before.
