I'll check how it charted in France/Belgium, but it was sold out day one in all specialized stores in my town (Belgium).

Also, take note that this doesn't include the PSVITA version which got only a digital release. It also doesn't include the digital PS4 version. We are talking about PS4 retail only here.

So in other words this is a great debut for a niche franchise in the west that tries to capture a new audience (minecraft audience) along with the RPG audience with zero marketing. I think the demo helped a lot here but i never expected that it would sell more than DQVIIR because it's a remake of a game that never got released in Europe and it was released for 3DS which right now has the Dragon Quest/RPG audience.

Is this a joke?? Builders has had more advertising than any DQ game since 9 came out back in 2010 in the west.

 

Maybe this person lives in the UK and didn't see the game anywhere on TV and shit.

Where do you live? And did you see any commercial on your TV or ''shit''? I didn't see a single commercial. Heck i didn't even see any promotion online and i am broswing tons of videogame sites everyday.

The only joke here is that Builders had a marketing campaign.

Just because Builders outsold the VII remake on 3DS means that DQ brand isn't strong?

I don't disagree with the DQ brand not being as strong here as in Japan, it's just that i don't understand how Builders proves this.

It doesn't look much like Minecraft. Sure there are similarities. The only thing that Builders does in regard to Minecraft is using part of it's concept (crafting). Someone could argue that it looks like Terraria but in 3D. 

Builders has a lot that Minecraft is missing and viceversa. Biggest different for Builders is that it's more an RPG (that has an actual story) than a crafting game.

Congrats to builders. Dragon quest doing well on Playstation this gen it seems. Excellent decision bringing the series back there.

Sony's Japan president didn't lied when he told to Hori on TGS Stage 2014 ''welcome back home!'' Dragon Quest appeared on a Nintendo platform first like FF but it's heart and souls beats better on Playstation systems ;)
