Forums - Gaming Discussion - Thing about Brawl

Ok, I know you people are going to attack me when I say this. Brawl is a great game, thats obvious(the best nintendo game for me ever), I play it at my cousins house and I have something to say about it.

First, people say the story mode(sub emisary thing) is awesome, but for me, sorry, but I think its really stupid, characters dont even talk, the plot is really bad, fun, but bad.

Second, the soundtrack is good, but by no means the best one ever, the same old thing remade. Made feel the same thing than melee, it doesnt make u want to get the soundtrack, and the best track for me isnt even a nintendo game song(the MGS one).

Okay, after this, I hasve to say it deserves a 10 in gameplay, its one of the games u can play for a lot of time wthout getting bored, but just those to points I wanted to make clear.

Noe u can start shooting at me.

Twesterm wrote a very lengthy thread about not liking Subspace Emissary, so you're not alone.

I have issues with the game myself, but they're not big enough for me to think it isn't a great game and a vital addition to the Wii library.

I respected what you were saying until this bit. It has so many songs, so many types, and they're all so great!!! I can't see how anything is better. (Except for maybe a few games.)

Guitar Hero 3/ Smash Hits

It's just a matter of preferences. Your own preferences obviously don't align perfectly with the demographic Brawl was aiming for with the Subspace Emissary and the music selection. The former doesn't surprise me that much (SSE mostly appeals to the sort who don't play that kind of game normally), but the music bit does surprise me. With around 300 songs, you could only find one you liked? I find that unlikely, bordering on improbable.

About the songs, Its not that I hated them, its just than they didnt attract me like other songs, Im the kind of guy that like the music of shadow of the colossus, God of War and some FF, but thats just me.

You're reasonable about your opinions, but i have to point out some issues i have with them.

SSE has the best story I've ever seen for a fighting game series. They don't talk, BIG DEAL. Pink Panther didn't talk either, but it was a freaking awesome cartoon. Stories can be told without words, and I think that Brawl showcased this to a T.

As for the music, sorry, the sheer size of the music list makes it pretty much impossible for me to agree with you. sure, there are some remakes and remixes, but there's still a solid 150-200 distinctly different songs. You're lucky if you can even find that in ANY game.

So no, not shooting you, just pointing out some rational to them.

Seppukuties is like LBP Lite, on crack. Play it already!

Currently wrapped up in: Half Life, Portal, and User Created Source Mods
Games I want: (Wii)Mario Kart, Okami, Bully, Conduit,  No More Heroes 2 (GC) Eternal Darkness, Killer7, (PS2) Ico, God of War1&2, Legacy of Kain: SR2&Defiance

My Prediction: Wii will be achieve 48% market share by the end of 2008, and will achieve 50% by the end of june of 09. Prediction Failed.

Having so many songs in a game doesnt mean the game has amazing soundtrack, they could be all bad, even if they are not.

As for the story, I think soulcalibur has better storyline than this.

How could you not like the music from LoZ, Earthbound, and metroid. Those are some of my favorite vg musics, and having all of them in one package makes it better than anything else. I guess it's your opinon , but it still is up there.

The story was ok. Better than most fighting games.

I have to agree with you on only one point: I think the MGS music is the best music in the game. I feel like I'm betraying good ol' Nintendo, but I love the MGS music. The rest of the music in the game is completely awesome though. I like SSE alright, but I still haven't taken the time to beat the whole thing.
