Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What kind of deals do you think Nintendo will have this holiday season?

I just want to see better eshop deals :

Also, I think they'll do a Wii u deal that'll include 2 games for 349.99 Sounds about right

For the 2ds, 80 dollars is already crazy cheap, especially since it already comes with a game. Makes you wonder why the N3DS is 200 then.

Anyways, I think they'll make a standalone 2ds for 69.99 to gain even more profits. Maybe lower N3DS XL to 180, N3DS at 160, 3DS XL at 160, 3DS at 120...

All of these prices are too high, with the exception of 2ds.  I can get a WiiU with a game any day for $250.  So, they have to do better than that.  Its harder to find deals on 3ds, but those 10%-15% drops you mentioned won't do much.  I'm thinking prices like that with attractive bundled games may work.  Or, they'll need to drop about double what you suggest.

Unfortunately, though they've improved in the last couple of years, Nintendo is notoriously stingy.  They could have sold 5mm more Wii U units over the lifetime if they has put together more attractive deals.  That would mean 5 million more buyers for games, and maybe more attention from third party devs.  Instead, they were essentially caught by the xbone on price, so it has been difficult for gamers to justify buying the Wii U.

That's all quite a shame, really.  The Wii U has some great games, and could certainly have had more.   But, Nintendo wouldn't give people a reason to buy it.

Wii U price drop and last big offer on games

NES mini could be too soon!

Switch!!!

Trade in WiiU get $10 off an NX pre-order.

1) 3DS Bundles
2) NES Classic
3) Some kind of NX pre-order bundle - least likely but I would if I were NoA.

There won't be anything special for WiiU as they will just let remaining stock go out slowly at the current price/packages. Retailers won't waste marketing on a platform where there is no future.

Where are you all getting these numbers? Wii U consoles are available with a bundled game for $299 everyday. That's the regular price. It is on sale at at least one major US retailer every week for $250.

With that said, I don't expect them to aggressively discount at this point. There is no reason to do so, unless they're sitting on tons of unsold units. The reason consoles are discounted is to sell games in the future. But, the WiiU is at the end of its life. There ain't much in the way of future game sales to be had. Most retailers I see have very few Wii U games in stock. The only thing Nintendo would accomplish now by blowing out Wii U consoles is cannibalizing sales of the NX, as few people will invest in two Nintendo consoles back to back.

I hope to see some good deals, i need to buy a back-up WiiU.

I dont think they will Wii U price cut because I don't think lotsa units left on market but I can see Wii U with 2-3 games for $299, I think 3DS will get price cut and NES Mini will sell great even without big marketing.

Wii U + 2 games for 299,99$ to get rid of the Wii Us they have left in stock

Should just drop the price down to 199 and ensure all stock is cleared.

Nintendo predict that this FY they will sell only 800k of Wii U units and there is info that Nintendo dont receive any more Wii U orders after October, that means there is no big Wii U stock on market so I dont see price but I can see Wii U with 2-3 games for $299.
