260 million? That's it? How is that insane? It seems like a pretty safe bet at this point. And here I was thinking about more than 300 millions.

Do people really think JW is a bad movie? I am a huge JP fan and have re-read the book more than any other book, and I loved JW. So did audiences. I'm not sure why people are so against it. If they include tons of awesome dinosaur action, people will not be 'burnt out' on it. Dinosaurs are the most fascinating and awe-inspiring animals ever to exist. If you think 'a' movie with them in it more often than every 14 years is 'too much,' you haven't thought about it enough.

It was just silly imo. The guy controlling the raptors, the whole making of a new breed of dinosaur and it was basically the same plot as in the first Jurassic Park.

The first one is great because it conveys very well the wonder of these creatures and how scary they can be.

The first one was also great because we'd never seen special effects at that level. In 1993, that movie blew minds because of it.

True. They also hold up very well.

I will never understand the logic of dumping an insanely massive budget for a sequel. It's usually exuberant spending for less return. Especially nowadays. JW's runaway success seemed to be kind of a fluke to me.
