I hope they have the full remake of Final Fantasy ready by then.

I think it's definitely too early for a Final Fantasy XVI to be released in 2017, but maybe it will be revealed trailer since Square Enix loves to show off their games many years in advance. Hopefully the full Final Fantasy VII Remake can be released in 2017. I'm sure they'll have other Final Fantasy projects though for the anniversary, with half of them probably being for mobile though.

Would it be too much to ask for SE to remake IX, but not completely? The backgrounds are still completely usable considering they were super condensed to fit on a few CDs on the PS1. Just modernize the art style for the rest of the game to take advantage of them, and that would be a must buy for me.
Of course, we'll probably be disappointed instead as nothing all that special gets announced.
