because great games, advanced tech, controllers, ...

The 80's Nintendo was Nintendo at their zenith creatively. Most of the IP they sell now, was created and conceived in the 80's. Their entire business model was born in the 80's.

As far as I'm concerned, nothing touched 80's Nintendo. They were like, what... 95% marketshare gods?

Untouchable.

2000's cause GC is my favourite console, GBA the best handheld ever and with Wii/DS they completely owned the market.

The NES dominated the market far more than the Wii and DS.

Cause the market was little, on the Nes era they sold 60m of devices while Wii + DS sold 250m wich is the biggest dominance ever, but that was not my point anyway, my point was that not only they had a masterpiece like GC and GBA on that decade, but also they completely dominated half of it.

90's and like others have said its not close. At all. The SNES is probably the greatest console of all time, the N64 is home to the GOAT game period in OoT and a handful of other all time greats. Then you have the GBC with Pokemon. It's really not even a contest.

80 and 90s. Best zelda, metroid, and mario. Anything beyond that has never been comparable. Since Nintendo went 3D in all ways, its been a downhill trend.

Not necessarily. Although it's true they have a much bigger volume of great games on the SNES, they did create the GOAT game in OoT in 3D. I think they started going downhill after 1998 with the release of Oot and Pokemon marking the last great hurrah for them.

I think the Wii and DS era is impressive considering what they had to go up against but I was just pointing out how the Gameboy and NES had an even bigger marketshare. I didn't know if you knew that or not.

Plus, don't forget, the NES singlhandedly brought back console gaming form the dead. The entire market had crashed and burned and the NES was able to overcome that and give birth to the entire industry that we all enjoy today. That's pretty impressive.

In my opinion that's total bullshit.

Metroid Prime, Wind Waker and Mario Galaxy are widely considered as some of the very best games ever coinceived and they come before OoT. They have all aged way better than OoT too.

And appart from that they have made TONS of great games after N64 (Xenoblade Chronicles, Paper Mario TYD, F-Zero GX, Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, Tropical Freeze, Smash Bros Melee, Mario Kart 8 and a pretty long etc are all among the best games of their genres) and some extremelly succesful new franchises (one pretty recent, splatoon), it sounds like you haven't touched a Nintendo console in 25 years.
