Interstellar and Mad Max.
I can't really pick yet. I'm also way too biased against movies that are generally speaking considered 'movies of our time'. Movies that speak to the human condition and such. I'm all about the movie itself, does it have a certain cadence, do the scenes fit, does the music fit, is the story not convoluted even if it is complicated, is it fun but not childish, is it funny but not adam sandler overly 'funny', is it believable sci-fi, are these super-heros even believable, etc, etc, etc.
_One_ of my movies of the decade of 1990s is 5th Element.
I'll let that speak for itself.
Well, if I really (and I mean REALLY) had to pick one... then I guess I would go with Mad Max: Fury Road.
This movie was a really surprise for me because I actually hated Mad Max: Beyond the Thunderdom when I was a kid (the only one I watched). So I went into the theater with really low expectations. And it totally blew me away.
Can't really narrow it down to one but here a few I think should be considered
Mad Max: Fury Road
Interstellar
Django Unchained
The Revenant
Skyfall
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Ahh the Revenant,
It is a good movie, but, when it comes down to it, it is really just 3 hours of listening to Dicaprio's labored breathing.
