There's a slight problem with your results. Your results are square millimetres (mm²), but they should be cubic millimetres (mm³). Please fix this immediately.

Forgive me, I couldn't help myself.

Lol, YES SIR!

X1 was a pretty big console to begin with so a 40% reduction will always look like a bigger reduction vs ps4. So I wouldnt doubt it

Actually, one could almost see that happening in a few years, sort of. A handheld sized PS4 (with buttons, analog sticks etc) into which you can plug a smartphone or tablet. Probably not pocket sized, but definitely portable.

I'm not sure if the reduction percent has been measured yet for the PS4 Slim so this thread either announces or confirms it.

Using the size comparison images I worked out these dimensions.

PS4 - 275mm x 273mm x 55mm = 4,129,125mm3

PS4 Slim - 259mm x 246mm x 40mm = 2,548,560mm3

That gives us a reduction of 38.3%, similar to the recent reduction of the XB1.

They made it 40% smaller by removing power supply and adding the giant power supply cable that one can swing like a medieval flail.

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.

I am on the other side of my sig....am I warm or cold?

Marco....

When calculating by volume, 40% is not such a crazy reduction in size.

Take a theoretical 250mm x 250mm x 50mm box for a volume of 3,125,000 cubic mm.

3,125,000 x .6 = 1,875,000 cubic mm (60% of the original volume for a reduction of 40%)

225 x 225 x 37 = 1,873,125 cubic mm (about 60% of the original volume)

That's a reduction of 25mm x 25mm x 13mm in external measurements which doesn't sound so far-fetched.

I'm assuming it's not a 40% reduction in mass rather than volume, which would be even easier to believe.

Interesting to know. I have an accurate 1:1 screenshot of that.

That console is far too small. I will lose it when it blows onto the floor and it gets vacuumed up by the cleaners.
