Just want to know how everyone´s feeling about this, i own a very high end smartphone wich cost me 700e, i love it, i use it everyday to be to check apps, net, calls, messages, you name it but when it comes to games i freaking hate it, the controlls on most games are crap and i´m such a Pc and Console entusiast i just can´t stand Mobile games.

With Pokemon Go i feel different, not suce if it is because it is Pokemon and nostalgia or because the game is actually enjoyable, but i like the game and i like seeing those numbers it is putting, also if it helps Nintendo i´m happy since i grew up with pretty much them and PlayStation back in the 90s.

What about you?

Most mobile games just aren't very good or only can keep people's attention for a short while. That's why a lot of mobile only gaming companies go bankrupt or get into trouble after a short while.

Pokémon GO is fun for me because I often walk and the app even showed me places in my city I haven't even seen before.

I dunno. I really don't like mobile gaming as a whole, but I do enjoy very specific games like Pokemon Go. Not sure what to make of its success, Nintendo had stated before that they wanted to focus more on mobile gaming, that it's the "future" of the industry and I fear that the WiiU's failure and Pokemon Go's great success is only gonna strenghten that perspective.

If you hate mobile gaming, you haven't played the right mobile games yet. For me, Pokemon Go isn't one of them, but it clearly is for a lot of people. I'd reccomend checking out Geometry Dash though
It's 2 bucks, has no microtransactions etc. and is hella fun. You can also download the free trial, which has a lot of content for a demo actually. It has ads every now and then encouraging you to buy the full game. It's a good demo though. Check it out

Hate mobile gaming it's so boring and limited. I also dislike Pokemon Go, I'm probably one of the only people that can't see what people like about that game, the only pro IMO is its getting kids outside rather than rotting away indoors all day.

I think what makes me happy is several key design choices:

One, the game has a personality/brand/design more interesting than a block of wood. Most games are unbearably generic to make sure as many people can get into it as possible (Candy Crush and all the other Saga games)

Two, the systems feed into themselves quite well, keeps you engaged. In most Pokemon games the collecting aspect loses importance less than halfway through. Here, the collecting is always worth it.

And lastly and most importantly, the microtransactions are not very intrusive. Yes they can help, but the game doesn't brutally pound you into buying them. You just KNOW 99% of companies would have sold star dust or had an RNG candy dispenser.

I like mobile games. I think Pokemon Go is poopoo. I love its meta though (the outside social stuff), and I think it has potential.

I hate mobile gaming. I don't like touch screen controls. I use my phone for a lot of things, but gaming isn't one of them. As for Pokemon Go, if it makes money for Nintendo and they use it to build their core brand, great. Even that is debatable, though, considering that Nintendo is only one stakeholder in Pokemon Go..

I don't necessarily have anything against mobile gaming. It's just that most mobile games are filled with microtransactions and I feel like I can't play them unless I end up paying a ton on the game. Games like Candy Crush and Clash of Clans seem like scams to me. With Pokemon Go, I've been really enjoying myself and I haven't spent anything on the game. The game makes it really easy to enjoy without spending money on it, unlike most mobile games. I've been playing a ton with my friends and it's been a great experience for us.

mobile is good for non action games.
im ok with mobile games, but action games i prefer on consoles
