Power alone won't bring back third parties.
A good first year line up will be forgotten if after it comes a drought.

It'd really need both. It would need the power that 3rd parties need to port and support the system with their games, and seeing as power is one of their biggest factors when it comes to making games, the NX needs to be able to run those games. Though, it needs a great line up to get people buying the console in the 1st place. Once Ninten wins people over with their own games and an overall good 1st year, then 3rd party may get the convincing they need to support it. That's how I see it at least.

If I had to choose between the two I'd say competitive console power. If Nintendo has that then they have a better chance of more and great games coming their way throughout the generation, whereas a solid launch line up is good but isn't exactly future-proof.

I don't see Nintendo ever getting back the NES/SNES audience, but I could see them replicating the Wii success. I think a system on par with PS4/XO is fine if it has something to hook people like a Wii Sports or Pokemon or Mario has the potential.

I vote line up, but I don't expect the system to be really weak by current console standards.

Agreed, but the poll seems to go the other way. Wii and Wii U proves that install base brings third party games, and I believe a strong first year lineup has the best chance of getting the NX a larger install base.

If both are as important, then you are eskewing the results by breaking the options.

I'm giving the option not to vote for one or the other for those of you who feel this way.

Powerful enough hardware so that third party developers decide to make games for it.

I don't care if it launches with just Zelda NX if in given time we get the same games Xbox and PS get from third parties. As of now, Nintendo games alone - which have decreased in quality - do not sell me the console.
