I mean I love gen.1 but it has some of the worst designs in the whole series heck I bet if that gen. wasn't the 1st one but was the any other gen,especially the more recent gens,people would hate the majority of the Pokémon.

What do you mean miss? They haven't gone anywhere. It's Pokemon Go that's missing the vast majority of Pokemon. Also let's not confuse masterful with nostalgia.

As a guy who has been supportive of nearly every pokemon design, that bear is shit. On one hand we have the ghost one which creates rag doll disguises of other pokemon, which is awesome. But then we have this shit design bear-raccoon hybrid that is said to be one of the most feared pokemon in the region.... im just not feeling it

Really? I'm not sure..I like the starters, the legendaries (including Magearna), Tapu Koko, Rockruff, Komala, Salabdit, Vikavolt, Pikipek, and Togedemaru. And that's out of the 21 we know is confirmed in this new region.

Not digging the bear, and that ghost Pikachu is just the stuff of nightmares.

For the last time...I was born in 1996. I didn't play Gen 1 until Fire Red and Leaf Green, and that was after I played Diamond and Pearl. It's not nostalgia, the designs were simple and effective and didn't look like cheap Americanized saturday morning cartoon characters like that bear. And Ice cream, keys, swords, trash, and God knows what else. Why is the only thing that upsets pokemon fans who see someone praising Gen 1, the pokemon designs?

Well, that's your opinion and I have mine. The newer pokemon, imo, are cheaply made and were made without heart. Gen 1-2 and even 3, were very organic and to me, from the heart of the original character designers. I know an American friend in college who is now working on monster designs in Japan. Their designs aren't my cup of tea. They just look very cheap and not very genuine compared to the first 3 gens.

Alright it was a bad assumption on my part to imply you're nostalgia blind, however your reasoning is hypocritical. Most Pokemon are based off real world things, be it objects or animals, that's been the case since gen1. It's pretty silly to say Klefki sucks while Magnemite is masterful. Also what really "upsets" me is when they try to say the gen 1 games are the best Pokemon games.

Yes, it was a bad assumption, and all imposing words are bad. If I don't like something, that's how I feel about it. You don't have to feel the same way about Gen 1 like I do. I'd rather use magnets because guess what, there are superheroes based on magnetism. There are no superheroes or anything supernatural about a pair of keys.What separates Magnemite from Klefki is the fact that Klefki is simply keys with eyes, Magnemite is much more complex and isn't just a N/S magnet.

Everyone has their own opinion, Gen 1 may be the best pokemon game...to somebody but that's as far as it'll go. It's as far as it'll go for someone to deem Gen 2 or 3 or 4, or 5, or 6 the best ones because there's no factual evidenec behind something like this.

I don't like Keys as monsters...I don't like Ice Cream as a monster. You may not like Magnets or Sludge, and that's fine. My issue is more of a design perspective than anything else. The new pokemon to me are ugly. IMO, magnemite looks better than Klefki in terms of design. But whatever floats your boat. I'll respect YOUR opinion, as long as you respect mine because if nothing can be proven as fact, it remains an opinion.
