Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Metroid Prime Isn't Good. I Don't Want Another!

I heard Resident Evil 4's intro has much easier controls and an easier intro. OP, you should check this game out instead.

Where's all the checkpoints in this game???? Are they any checkpoints at all? I spend half an hour and beat a boss AND NOT 1 CHECKPOINT?!

It's, uh, called a save station, dude. They've been in every single Metroid game since 1991. You stand in it, and it saves your progress. That way, when you die (and I think I'm fairly safe in assuming you're going to be dying a lot given the majority of the OP), you don't go back to the very start of the game.

Was there a save station before the first boss in Metroid Prime? It's been a long time since I played the Wii version of it.

Yep. There's a door on the left wall of the room right before the first boss that leads to a save station inside.

Played it on Gamecube and loved it. Instant classic. Don't ever remember it being too hard, though. I haven't played with the motion controls however, so I can't share an opinion on that. I've heard the motion controls suited the game very well, with some outlets saying it was the superior way to play it, so there's that.

To each his/her own, I guess.

Btw, I hate close checkpoints. The checkpoints are a big part of the pacing and design, and I would be bummed if they changed it to the typical auto saves we have now every 20 digital yards our character walks.

Ninstation, you're certainly welcome to share your opinions, or discuss why you disagree with other users. There's nothing necessarily wrong with opinion threads, as long as you leave the discussion open. It's the reason we have a forum after all.

Rants like this, however, are not acceptable. If you can't get past a game, or find it too difficult...it's okay to stop playing it. But for the love of mercy, give yourself a chance to cool off before you post something like this. This OP reads more like a blog post than a topic of discussion, and there's no real hope of an honest discussion coming from it.

I don't see any way this thread can be salvaged based on the content in the OP. Thread locked.
