Forums - Nintendo Discussion - People needs to calm down in regards of Breath of the Wild

Overhype is the word to describe right now Breath of the Wild.

While I love how the game looks so far, some are going nuts about it. The Zelda franchise has a very wide range of approachs: from an open world like Zelda Nes, to a linear dense one like Skyward Sword.

Not everyone will be pleased with a single game.

Breath of the Wild has not been shown complete. We have not seen any NPC, towns or dungeons. What if you don't like the new implementation of those?

All I hope is people has a very open mind to see the game and not just overhype because "Zelda", and ends with a massive dissapointment.

PS: The game from the look of the trailer will have a lot of open landmass without a single thing to look for. Hopefully people understand since now that the game will noy be as dense as some expect.

I'm ready for it, and I'm ready to stop expecting the best Zelda or best game and just ask for a good Zelda game with its own identity.

I donno. I think it's worthy of the attention and hype. This is a hugely ambitious game from a studio that's already produced several outstanding Zelda games, including arguably the best 8th gen game only three years ago.

The arrival of a console Zelda is always a major event. By returning to the series' origins, Nintendo has added another source of intrigue. It's hard not to get swept up in the excitement.

I think it's reasonable to be hyped. My favorite game of all time is Oblivion, and Zelda seems to have these same, vast open landscapes that aren't artificially packed with stuff around every little corner. Much more satisfying when you discover something this way and the world seems alive for real. Wise decision by Miyimyoto.

I'm also excited, but even with that, I know the game will be different from past entries. Anyone expecting a sequel to Skyward Sword will not have it. Or The Wind Waker or Twilight Princess or Ocarina of Time.

We need to look at what they are offering us and enjoy. We need to stop expecting that magical game that will please everyone at the same time.

I like what I have seen because it looks different from past games.

On that I agree. The game won't make everyone happy.

But all those game you mentioned are great. I'm confident Breath of the Wild will also be great, despite its differences from recent Zelda titles - or, perhaps, because of them.

Really love how each one is different. For example Slimebeast looks like to be happy with the design while other entries seems to be far from his tastes.

I'll remain cautiously hyped for this game, but so far, I like what I'm seeing

No problem. I'm too skeptical about the game already.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I didn't sell my Wii U yet just to play this so the hype is real, I liked most I have seen except the lower framerate, but it seemed acceptable, overall, this should be a great last round for my Wii U! I agree tough, never overhype but it doesn't matter in the end most of us have pre ordered this bad boy and will play it regardless of reviews

Nah, we're honestly not hyped enough. Very little was shown of the game so we honestly can't judge the game until it is shown at its fullest. They intentionally removed Towns and NPCs to avoid spoilers, I'm sure Nintendo wouldn't make a huge world of this stature with absolutely nothing to do. "But Twilight Princess", this isn't Twilight Princess. In fact, it's far from it. I can tell this game will be amazing just by what has been shown.
