Forums - Gaming Discussion - Good games with lame/crappy/unfitting names

LittleBigPlanet. Catchy name but is the planet big or little lol.

Final Fantasy X and X-2, XIII and XIII-2 and of course, "Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII", that would be FF XIII-3. Really, why not just move to 11, 14 and so? Why to make sequels of a sequel? It's like a sub-chapter? WTF? And the last one is the best name ever.

You could also cite that FFXIV isn't really a sequel to FFXIII because it's just a MMO spin-off, while FFXV is really the series continuation.

Also, Simon's Quest. It's plain dumb. And Street Fighter 2010. It's just a sidescroller with a guy that IMPLIED to be Ken.

Sleeping Dogs.

Watch Dogs.

The Need for Speed sequels with repeated names, like Most Wanted, the new NFS and Hot Pursuit.

Far Cry.

Devil May Cry.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. It's kinda stupid but also kinda awesome. It's the most awesome dumb name ever or maybe the dumbest awesome name.

New Super Mario Bros U
Super Mario 3D World

It's too easy to think of these as just WiiU ports of NSMB and SM3D Land.

NSMBU is especially bad - the box art is too similar to NSMB, which further confuses people.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Battlefield.

At no point do you battle anybody called field.

There is this indie game. I don't know if its actually good, but its called somthing like "VVVVVV". Everytime i see it i think thats retarded.

Despite the crappy name the game is actually pretty decent if you like weird platformers.

Anything Square Enix makes, starting with Final Fantasy because there's nothing final in it. And then there's stuff like Bravely Default, and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, which seem to make little sense.

Final Fantasy because it was the last game they had money to make and if it didn't made the success it had then they would close doors. Then it became a franchise.

Uncharted. Literally everywhere he goes, he has maps and charts.

Grand Theft Auto. Almost the smallest crime you do in that game.

But before he construct the clues and find it there wasn't a propper chart.

Because FF I, II, III, etc aren't sequels to the other games... only FF X-2, XIII-2 and Lightning returns are sequels hence the double numbering

"3D Dot Game Heroes" immediately comes to mind. It's like they were trying to think of a website or something.

Yes, yes, I understood their logic. Anyway, I think it's kinda dumb to name a game 13-2. And well, Lightning Returns instead of XIII-3 is at least confusing.
