Forums - Gaming Discussion - Games you thought were meh but you changed your mind when you actually played them

Professor Layton, I always thought these games wouldn't be for me, but when I was given Miracle Mask on 3DS my opinion changed. I absolutely loved it, and I'm looking forward to the new announcement for the next game.

Alot of games last gen....  Just Cause 2, Mafia II, Ghostbusters the game (I thought it would be awful but it was actually pretty decent), Dishonored, Darksiders II, probably some others that I'm forgetting as well.

I also remember thinking games like Blast Corps, Body Harvest, and Winback on N64 were gonna be total meh when I rented them, but they were all great in their own rights.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

The Metal Gear series. I thought they'd just be meh military games but they have my favorite videogame plotline. Shame we'll never see the puzzle fully completed:/

What's left to see from the puzzle?

Well there's that 3rd chapter in MGSV that never got made for starters. I feel like the whole Big Boss villain thing wasn't done very well.

And the Raiden stuff in between MGS2 and MGS4. It was supposed to be in MGSR but that game got cancelled :S

I guess most data can be inferred from what we already have. There's the leaked Chapter 51 which clear things up a bit, and the Raiden arc was explained throughout MGS4 (I guess the only really thing we never got to see was him rescuing Olga's child, but that's also told through the game).

Everything makes a bit more sense if you ignore MGSV as a whole though. xD

Even in terms of explanation, I'd still prefer it if we got entire games to explain all that stuff and more, lol. Kinda like how we knew who Big Boss was, but MGS3 still taught us a lot about him.

Regarding MGSV, I actually liked Venom Snake, I'm just not a fan of how the second half of the game was structured/handled, likely due to the Kojima/Konami thing...

Danganronpa. Basically opened my eyes to the whole VN style of game.

Mass Effect... boring in the first hours and then... My top game series...

In Sony We Trust!

Monster Hunter

Mass Effect 1 .... I actually put it down for 6 months after not liking the first 45min-1 hour. When I finally got around to give this game a next chance it quickly became one of my favorite game of all time.

Psychonauts - The artstyle kept me from playing it for ages, but then I finally decided to try it when it was on sale. It started pretty boring but I kept playing and now I really like it and I'm looking forward to the sequel.
