Forums - General Discussion - When is a phone too big?

alright, im seeing a lot of "when it doesnt fit in your pocket" responses... ahem...

my sweatshirt has a front pocket that could my New 3DS XL, a 7.5-inch tablet, and my 5-inch phone with room to spare. so dont use pockets to determine appropriate phone sizes.

now for a serious answer, we need to remember that phones are just that, PHONES. meaning we should be able to hold them in one hand, and make calls using just one hard. if youre holding a phone in your hand, and your thumb cannot reach to the other side of the screen easily, you have gone too far

When it becomes a size of a Tablet

But personally, when I can't fit it in my pocket properly

Whenever you feel like it really. I had the Note 3 at 5.7" and I could still easily touch my thumb with my middle finger. I would have gone to 6" but Samsung only makes tiny phones anymore.

The note 5 is the same size you know.

Edge+ is also the same size

Both of which are phones from the past while Samsung's latest flagship is tiny 5.5".

One handed keyboard mode brah.

And I gree, I don't put my phone in my pocket. As long as it's usable with one hand and it's comfortable to hold I am game.

I used HTC desire 820 which had 5.5" screen. It was too big for my pocket. Then I got iPhone 6s and it's just perfect.

Everything that's to big to use it with one thumb. Between 4.7-5 inch is perfect for me. But i'd prefer a 4.5 over a 5.2 inch phone, the latter one being slightly to big to be used onehanded comfortably.

you get used to bigger sizes.

try goign back to say a galaxy s2 or an earlier iphone after using something with a 5.5 inch screen.

It's funny how mobile phones used to get smaller and smaller and everyone wanted the tinest phone, while now they get bigger and bigger.

I think they're getting too big with each new iteration. To take iPhones as the reference point; I have an iPhone 5, which I think is about the size I think they should be at most. I was actually more comfortable with my old 4, size-wise. I think the 6 is already a bit too big, let alone the 6+. I don't get why it's so popular, way too big and cumbersome. I wouldn't even want that one for free. Well, I would, but just to sell it...

I think this i probably pushing it a little.

Wait, what?

They were both released last year. They're not necessarily "from the past". If you're dying for a new, big phone, then wait for the Note 6. Rumours are showing it will be a monster
