Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Are people getting angry at others asking for a 3D Mario like 64, Sunshine, Galaxy the most obnoxious?

Ye amazing game but doesn't have the same 3D effect as the other games... I think Co-op takes away a little from a true Mario feeling!

But Galaxy had co-op.

There is now 3 categories of mario games

-the classic mario platform games (all 2d marios including new super mario games)
-the platform/exploration mario (64, sunshine, galaxy)
-mario 3d land/world which is mario classic but in 3d.

For me the platform/exploration version is the best. That is not even a contest.

But for people who loves classic marios, 3d world's more traditional approach is better.

Anyway, we want another platform/exploration mario

This pretty much. I was just going to post pretty much the same thing till i seen your post.

Anyway id love another mario game done like 64 but updated.

Me too, also, for me 3D world is too much like New super mario. And we got already so many of those.

New Super Mario and 3D wrold feels like a step back to me. I spent so mch time playing classic mario games in the 90's, I want the series to move forward, not back.

3D world feels like what Mario 64 could have been, if Nintendo had lower ambitions.

It is pretty weird how 3D World is still being debated as a 2.5 or 3D game

Game is definitely fun, but the debates are odd, though I wouldn't say obnoxious

I know exactly what your saying. Hell Sega got lots of slack back in the day for doing the whole 3D World/Land thing with Sonic 3D on the MegaDrive.

3D Land/world is nothing compared to Mario 64 imo.

Sonic 3D's main problem was that it sucked. It didn't manage to transfer Sonic's abilities into a new kind of game.

As for ambition, I can't shake the feeling that that word always means open world, time sink or merely throwing a lot of money at game development.

And 3DWorld is not any of those: open world, time sink or with a high investement, but neither ambitious. It's nothing revolutionary. It's nothing impressive. It's just a game that it's there, just for the sake of being it.
