Forums - Sales Discussion - China gaming news thread

Hello guys and girls. I noticed we don't have a thread for China gaming-releated news, so here's one.

For those that has been following video game market research, it's no secret that China has been one of the fastest growing game markets (both in term of earnings and players count) and currently is considered one of the biggest gaming markets. Over the past years so many companies have been pouring big money in the market with many foreign players trying to gain a foot. I hope this thread will serve as a place where we can share and discuss relevant links about the latest developments/investments in the market there,  in addition to small news that don't warrant their own threads.

That actually looks pretty nifty.  It will be interesting to see if Chinese games one day affect the rest of the market.

Anyways, on topic again... looking forward to seeing what China can offer. Looking at that article about upcoming Chinese console games makes me at the settings. Ancient China and the various Chinese dynasties have a lot to offer for games IMO. Plus it would be cool if there was a uniquely Chinese feel to the games too. We've already got that with some Japanese games feeling kind of Japanesey so hopefully Chinese games will feel kind of Chinesey too. Although that said when I see things like '2D platformer' or 'side-scroller' I'm like . It's only early days though, give them some time to catch up and hopefully they can produce some awesome games

^

Anyways, looks like a interesting thread.

This SHOULD be a ZhugeEX thread. I suppose he's kinda busy.

On other sights, it's good to see more interest in the Chinese market. Let's see how big it could become.

I want a new Alice game

Just noticed this thread, also thought it's ZhugeEX's...still hoping for him to write that article about China's mini-consoles, I think that can potentially be massive market, overshadowing consoles there.

Anyway, good to see some news from China, my guess is once their devs really start getting into console market, like Eastern Europe did back in days, there will be some really great and novel AAA games from there.

Tagged. Good idea. Hopefully ZhugeEX contributes
