Forums - Nintendo Discussion - My Nintendo Does Not Reward Physical Games and Points Expire in 6 Months

It all depends on how Nintendo will update these rewards. Like was said earlier miitomo and platinum coins means nothing. Only golds are really matter. At this time My Nintendo is Club Nintendo from different angle of view.

Sooooo they want us to spend our fake money and with our real money as fast as possible?

Pocky Lover Boy!

"Nintendo’s New rewards Program Doesn’t Reward Physical Purchases... Yet"

This is misleading. Trinen's answer was addressing physical rewards, not redeeming physical purchases. The rewards program isn't going to reward physical purchases. Don't put words in his mouth.

There isn't really a problem with the six month expiration on coins. It's meant to reward people for constantly purchasing software. Active consumers only. If you're not redeeming your coins in 6 whole months, you're not the kind of consumer Nintendo wants to reward. The short expiration date is meant to make you spend your coins more quickly, meaning you'll get discounts more frequently, meaning you'll spend money more frequently, meaning you'll get coins more frequently, and on and on.

The discounts suck in NA, but My Nintendo itself is far better than CN ever was.

Long story short: the rewards program may be elevated above dogwater, but not very soon.

I will be VERY disappointed if "Star Fox Zero" doesn't come with a code.

Nintendo gonna Nintendo.

Wow! This is a brilliant marketing scheme on Nintendo's part. They literally just found away to keep people playing their games and buying new games. Sure... you can get free games and discounts, which better than what Sony and Microsoft currently offer... but they want you to drop cash on their games and play the fuck out of their games.

Want free stuff? Earn it *snap snap snap* Buy more games, play non-stop, and buy a new game next week for more coins. Better play those games fast or *wink wink* You'll lose your cooooiiins.

Nintendo is literally just put a carrot on a stick....

They should have kept it at 2 years. I would have been happy if they rode this gen out with Club Nintendo before switching to the new program.  Honestly, Club Nintendo rocked and I saw nothing wrong with it.  I see nothing special about their current reward program nor do I even care to educate myself more on it.

Only the american Club Nintendo rocked. The european Club Nintendo sucked most of the time. However before closing the european Club Nintendo they added some good rewards so at least it ended with a swan song.

What annoys me most is that the expiration of the points is "hidden" in the terms of use and that you can't see when your coins will dissapear. (Or did I miss something on My.Nintendo?)

I suppose they did spoil the NA consumers more but Japan would probably take the icing on the cake for being Club Nintendo pampered.  I believe I got at least 80-90 dollars worth of VC games from Club Nintendo along with posters, bags, and other gear.  I suppose I'll look into My Nintendo more but I'm not in a hurry.
